Chateau De Versailles

Chateau De Versailles

A subtle breeze brings the fragrance of coniferous trees and citrus fruit through the halls of Versailles, where it mingles with the fragrance of freshly waxed wood floors and paneled walls. Also contains notes of fancy people and hundreds of years of history.

About Fragrance Oil
  • The fragrance oils sold by Scent Memory are a manufacturing product. They are not skin safe on their own and must be diluted prior to use.
  • Our oils are formulated to generally work in candle and body care applications, but must be tested for compatibility in your product.
  • Due to the concentration of the oils safety precautions must be taken when handling them.

What are fragrance oils?

Fragrance oils are synthetic or blended aromatic compounds designed to mimic natural scents or create entirely new ones. Unlike essential oils, which are extracted from plants, fragrance oils are crafted by blending aromatic chemicals and natural extracts. This careful formulation allows for a wide range of scents that may not be possible to achieve with essential oils alone and also allows for greater safety and performance in their applications.

How Can Fragrance Oils Be Used?

Though they smell beautiful on their own, fragrance oils are a manufacturing product and must be diluted prior to use. They can be formulated for one specific purpose (such as for soap or in a candle) or for a wider range of applications - however, no one fragrance oil will work in ALL applications, so testing your products is a must. The fragrance oils that Scent Memory Fragrance offer are generally formulated to be safe in candle and body care applications.

Are Fragrance Oils Safe On Their Own?

Just like any concentrated product, care must be used in handling fragrance oils prior to dilution in product. Every fragrance oil product page contains the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) in the "Regulatory Documents" tab. Download and review prior to using the fragrance oil.

Safety Information
  • Fragrance oils are a manufacturing product used in making candles, soap and other products. They must be diluted before use.
  • Refer to the IFRA tab for maximum skin safety usage rates, and review the IFRA document carefully.
  • Maximum usage rates refer to skin safety percentages only and are not recommendations for usage rates in products or formulas. Refer to your formula for the recommended usage rate, and do not use the fragrance oil if the IFRA rate is not rated highly enough for use in your product.
  • Download and review the SDS (Safety Data Sheet) document provided in the IFRA & SDS tab. Follow all safety guidelines recommended. Do not allow contact with skin or ingest. Follow all IFRA guidelines for dilution in product.  Care should be used in handling at all times.

DISCLAIMER: The fragrance oils sold by Scent Memory are a manufacturing component and not a finished product. Scent Memory is not responsible for any products made from materials purchased from the site, nor do we guarantee the performance or safety of the end product. Proper testing and ensuring compatibility of all materials the is the responsibility of the purchaser. We always recommend purchasing the smallest amount of product available and testing before committing to a larger size.

  • After getting it in wax, it is spot on!
  • Very clean and green, but also sweet. A beautifully unique fragrance!
  • Very strong hot throw. And it's much better balanced.

I really love this scent. OOB, it wasn't my favorite, but after getting it in wax, it is spot on! Thank you!

Out of the bottle, I was taken aback by the combo of eucalyptus and honey in this scent, and I wasn’t sure if I’d like it. However, over time this has become one of my favorite candle scents. It smells like candlelight on polished wood, managing to be both fresh and cozy at the same time. Wonderful in candles!

Ima be real with yall. I don’t like this scent; however, it smells exactly like the description, so for that, it gets a 5/5. It’s also very strong to my nose on a blotter strip.

Need to revisit Versailles to confirm, but yes, another perfectly named scent. Ignore what your nose tells you straight OOB (for this and all scents, tbh) and just try it. Initially, I smell a heavier, musty note that conveys the historical themed scents for which Cire Trudon is known. It actually adds depth to this fragrance! This scent is what I imagine an immaculately kept vacation home would smell like with freshly polished wood floors, an orange grove scented breeze, and a giant woodsy arrangement of tree branches covered in spring green leaves and adorned with springs of...something. Eucalyptus? Lemon? Something sharp, green, inviting. It is an intoxicating combination and I like it in coconut wax melts in spring.

Exactly how I would imagine the halls of Versailles to smell! Very clean and green, but also sweet. A beautifully unique fragrance!

The description is dead on. I was hesitant about buying this one because I was worried that it would smell powdery, but it doesn't. The more I smell it, the more complexity I find.

SUCH an underrated and unique fragrance. You can smell the paneled walls and waxed floors as described. its a little bit musty, its very pretentious and high end. This is one of those scents that takes you back to a place or a time. Its fantastical and utterly niche. Also performed well in soap, with no discoloration or acceleration in cold process!

Elegant and Unique

This is such a unique scent. Puts me in mind of walking into an incredibly well kept Victorian home. It's grown on me to the point where I absolutely love it. One of those scents that in a candle (when burning) it's both strong and subtle enough to not feel as if there is a candle burning, but you are still aware of the scent as if it was a natural part of the room.

I got sidetracked once I became addicted to SM- I found so many fragrances I needed in perfume but I am someone who doesn’t alway want to have my home smelling like perfumes I wear… I snagged a bottle of Chateau De Versailles via Destash- i need more of it! This is exactly what I’m looking for for scented wax- I am almost certain it’s too upscale for most locals at a SW- Virginia flea market to appreciate, but anyone who’s nose is a bit more “educated “ ( I’m laughing as I’m writing) will be able to appreciate these different notes you simply won’t find at the DG! This is exactly what got me hooked to SM - I am not going to pretend like I have even had the opportunity to sample even 10% of the original fragrances the SM ones were inspired by but a long time ago I was in a different place in life where I did get to enjoy these luxuries more as a given and am passionate about the “better than ordinary “ - which absolutely is what SM offers - even if it was “just” a pumpkin scent, it’ll be exiting, you will never just get something “meh “ !

So back to Château… the exact same thing as with any and every different FO is key: never ever judge a fragrance merely from unscrewing the lid and taking a whiff! Sure enough, that may give you an idea of what to expect if you can’t tell by the descriptions and scent notes whether a FO may be something you like, but you MUST use it in whatever product you make to really be able to smell the magic! Château De Versailles is a keeper!

Give it time to mellow

Otb it's way too "something". I can't quite figure out what the "something" is, but it is definitely too much for me to want to ware it or put it in soap. So I decided to make a candle with it. At first it was still not quite enjoyable for my preference. So I ignored it for a while. Now it's calmed down and throws great scent!! Very strong hot throw. And it's much better balanced. I tell you, I never put much attention to curing candles but these SM fragrances are having me questioning my practices.
