About Fragrance Oil
  • The fragrance oils sold by Scent Memory are a manufacturing product. They are not skin safe on their own and must be diluted prior to use. 
  • Our oils are formulated to generally work in candle and body care applications, but must be tested for compatibility in your product. 
  • Due to the concentration of the oils safety precautions must be taken when handling them. 

What are fragrance oils?

Fragrance oils are synthetic or blended aromatic compounds designed to mimic natural scents or create entirely new ones. Unlike essential oils, which are extracted from plants, fragrance oils are crafted by blending aromatic chemicals and natural extracts. This careful formulation allows for a wide range of scents that may not be possible to achieve with essential oils alone and also allows for greater safety and performance in their applications. 

How Can Fragrance Oils Be Used?

Though they smell beautiful on their own, fragrance oils are a manufacturing product and must be diluted prior to use. They can be formulated for one specific purpose (such as for soap or in a candle) or for a wider range of applications - however, no one fragrance oil will work in ALL applications, so testing your products is a must. The fragrance oils that Scent Memory Fragrance offer are generally formulated to be safe in candle and body care applications. 

Are Fragrance Oils Safe On Their Own?

Just like any concentrated product, care must be used in handling fragrance oils prior to dilution in product. Every fragrance oil product page contains the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) in the "Regulatory Documents" tab. Download and review prior to using the fragrance oil. 
Safety Information
  • Fragrance oils are a manufacturing product used in making candles, soap and other products. They must be diluted before use.
  • Refer to the IFRA tab for maximum skin safety usage rates, and review the IFRA document carefully. 
  • Maximum usage rates refer to skin safety percentages only and are not recommendations for usage rates in products or formulas. Refer to your formula for the recommended usage rate, and do not use the fragrance oil if the IFRA rate is not rated highly enough for use in your product. 
  • Download and review the SDS (Safety Data Sheet) document provided in the IFRA & SDS tab. Follow all safety guidelines recommended. Do not allow contact with skin or ingest. Follow all IFRA guidelines for dilution in product.  Care should be used in handling at all times.

For our Canadian Friends: we highly recommend Shippsy.com as a package forwarder. UPS charges very high brokerage fees and duty on oils even if they are manufactured in the United States. Shippsy will not charge these fees if a commercial invoice showing the oil origin is provided. We are happy to provide this upon request. You are responsible to ensure all import regulations are followed, including documentation and product approval. Scent Memory is responsible only for delivery to a US domestic address and consider orders closed once delivery confirmation is received.

International Shipping: At this time Scent Memory only ships within the United States and its territories. We are responsible only for delivery to a US domestic address and consider orders closed once delivery confirmation is received.

Shipping Policy: Scent Memory ships orders through the United States Postal Service and UPS. All orders are assigned tracking numbers which are transmitted to the customer within 24 hours of shipping.

Orders that are marked as delivered by the shipping carrier are considered complete. Scent Memory is not responsible for stolen or missing packages after the carrier conveys delivered status. Individuals should work with their local post office or UPS location to identify exact location of delivery.

Returned Packages: In the event of a returned package due to undeliverable location, customer refusal or incorrect address, Scent Memory will send the customer and invoice for redelivery. If this is not paid, a refund on the purchase will be made minus the original delivery fee.

Damaged Packages: In the event of a damaged package please contact info@scentmemoryfragrance.com with pictures of the packaging and the product, with a description of and the extent of the damage. This is required for Scent Memory to file a shipping damage claim.

Out of bottle, this smells like a beautiful rose fragrance. But when I made perfume with it, it became 1000 x better! All of the notes really come out and it is such a beautiful fragrance with so much more depth than my initial impression. I highly recommend for perfume and am excited to see how it works in lotion, body oil, and laundry detergent as well!

This is THE rose fragrance IMO! Don’t let the fragrance notes fool you; it is very balanced and definitely rose-prominent with all the other notes working to round it out and give it a bit of dimension. I was afraid it would be cloying but it is not at all.

This is such a nice, nature identical Rose scent. It really smells like the nicest Rose from your garden. I really like a candle that has a light fragrance but a strong HT, in other words, light as in not heavy but it permeates. The fragrance throws far and wide but does not punch you in the face. I want to try blending it with Immortal Peach next

I have an on-again, off-again relationship with this one. On one side, it surrounds you and seduces you with layers upon layers of rose petals, and has a definite high end feel. There's also a fair amount of musky and powdery notes, so I often have to take a break from it. It's a big thrower in coco-apricot wax, and it lingers. Haven't tried it in soap as the IFRA is on the lower end, and rose FOs tend to accelerate, but have heard good things from others, so maybe that's where I'll test next.

This is a beautiful rose scent, not like the type that you find in weird potpourri. It has been mentioned before, but it's the best way to describe it - elevated. It's luxurious, and it throws pretty well in my candles. I came home after burning it, and I was delighted by the scent that was left lingering. It's a delicate floral with that extra something. I know my clients are going to love this, and now I'm off to make perfumes and wax melts with it.

Rose Des Vents - There are plenty of reviews of this one singing its praises and yet, I can’t help give my take on it…

The Rose of all Rose scents but not in a freshly cut vase of blooms type of way. If you want to feel as if your nose is shoved up in a sunkissed mess of baby pink petals, this is not your girl. HOWEVER, if you want the vibe to be gorgeous female running through an Impeccable rose garden with nothing on but a sash of hot pink tulle whilst giving double middle fingers to everyone telling her to put her clothes back on, then this one is for you.

It’s elegantly sassy and rebellious…that black currant gives it a hint of jamminess and hands down, it is one of the BEST oils from SM. She’s a friggin’ beast in CAC. I literally only cured for 24 hours, then impatience got the better of me (those rebellious vibes taking me down) and holy cheese and rice. CT Check. HT holy check.

I’ve been dousing myself in oil for the past 2 weeks and have random strangers falling in love with me. Might need to just break down and make some perfume out of this one because I can’t even.

Nice and fairly light

I am a huge floral fan and was hoping this would not disappoint. First smell wasn't as inviting as I would have liked however after the fragrance has time to sit and open up (like a good wine) it was amazing. Not sure I would purchase again but not bad either.

A very good rose with sweet and cosmetic effects, great cold and hot throw in coco apricot wax. More on the classic side than modern but for a rose enthusiast this is a must.
