About Fragrance Oil
  • The fragrance oils sold by Scent Memory are a manufacturing product. They are not skin safe on their own and must be diluted prior to use. 
  • Our oils are formulated to generally work in candle and body care applications, but must be tested for compatibility in your product. 
  • Due to the concentration of the oils safety precautions must be taken when handling them. 

What are fragrance oils?

Fragrance oils are synthetic or blended aromatic compounds designed to mimic natural scents or create entirely new ones. Unlike essential oils, which are extracted from plants, fragrance oils are crafted by blending aromatic chemicals and natural extracts. This careful formulation allows for a wide range of scents that may not be possible to achieve with essential oils alone and also allows for greater safety and performance in their applications. 

How Can Fragrance Oils Be Used?

Though they smell beautiful on their own, fragrance oils are a manufacturing product and must be diluted prior to use. They can be formulated for one specific purpose (such as for soap or in a candle) or for a wider range of applications - however, no one fragrance oil will work in ALL applications, so testing your products is a must. The fragrance oils that Scent Memory Fragrance offer are generally formulated to be safe in candle and body care applications. 

Are Fragrance Oils Safe On Their Own?

Just like any concentrated product, care must be used in handling fragrance oils prior to dilution in product. Every fragrance oil product page contains the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) in the "Regulatory Documents" tab. Download and review prior to using the fragrance oil.

  • Fragrance oils are a manufacturing product used in making candles, soap and other products. They must be diluted before use.
  • Refer to the IFRA tab for maximum skin safety usage rates, and review the IFRA document carefully. 
  • Maximum usage rates refer to skin safety percentages only and are not recommendations for usage rates in products or formulas. Refer to your formula for the recommended usage rate, and do not use the fragrance oil if the IFRA rate is not rated highly enough for use in your product. 
  • Download and review the SDS (Safety Data Sheet) document provided in the IFRA & SDS tab. Follow all safety guidelines recommended. Do not allow contact with skin or ingest. Follow all IFRA guidelines for dilution in product.  Care should be used in handling at all times.

For our Canadian Friends: we highly recommend Shippsy.com as a package forwarder. UPS charges very high brokerage fees and duty on oils even if they are manufactured in the United States. Shippsy will not charge these fees if a commercial invoice showing the oil origin is provided. We are happy to provide this upon request. You are responsible to ensure all import regulations are followed, including documentation and product approval. Scent Memory is responsible only for delivery to a US domestic address and consider orders closed once delivery confirmation is received.

International Shipping: At this time Scent Memory only ships within the United States and its territories. We are responsible only for delivery to a US domestic address and consider orders closed once delivery confirmation is received.

Shipping Policy: Scent Memory ships orders through the United States Postal Service and UPS. All orders are assigned tracking numbers which are transmitted to the customer within 24 hours of shipping.

Orders that are marked as delivered by the shipping carrier are considered complete. Scent Memory is not responsible for stolen or missing packages after the carrier conveys delivered status. Individuals should work with their local post office or UPS location to identify exact location of delivery.

Returned Packages: In the event of a returned package due to undeliverable location, customer refusal or incorrect address, Scent Memory will send the customer and invoice for redelivery. If this is not paid, a refund on the purchase will be made minus the original delivery fee.

Damaged Packages: In the event of a damaged package please contact info@scentmemoryfragrance.com with pictures of the packaging and the product, with a description of and the extent of the damage. This is required for Scent Memory to file a shipping damage claim.

Very sweet and bright—definitely a candy-like fruity scent. It behaved well in cold process soap with no issues with a great scent retention, and I also used it in perfume roll-ons where it really shines. Great for year-round use, especially if you’re looking for something fun and cheerful. A customer favorite!

Glorious fruit compote with a rich creamy center. Like a dessert tray in Florence, with all the dolci! Made a beautiful cold process soap; super easy to work with and plenty of time for intricate swirls. Does darken to a tan after the cure but easily incorporated into a design.

So, so, sooooo creamy and fruity. I knew this was it before I even opened the bottle, and I'm not even a gourmand person! It's like an elevated Fruity Pebbles marshamallow. I gave a few bars of soap made with this to my cousin, now this is her signature fragrance. Absolute banger.

Oh i love this one. OOB i was very unsure but once it dried down a bit OH MY GOD i love it!!!! Definitely made myself a roll on perfume as well as mutiple testers of different mixtures i couldnt resist!

For me, this is it

For me, this is it. This is one of the BEST fragrances I've ever smelled. Warm, fruity, sweet. I can pick up everything listed in the notes and I now want to live in a permanent vapor of Frutti Dolce. I ordered 11 total and love them all but, for me, this is IT.

Ooo this one is amazing. Made perfumes to test, and it bears some resemblance to OPMW. Where that one reminds me of a skittles musk, Frutti Dolce has a more creamy citrus top & the sugar note reminds me of a perfume-y kinda pixie-stick. Both are candy-sweet but there are differences. & Both have good projection and longevity.
Not sure which of the two I prefer, but do find the dolce off my shelf disappearing faster than the petal-mallow whip. Ngl for aesthetics I do love how OPMW turns a deep ambery color tho

A lot weaker than I expected in coco apricot. Even OOB, it could be stronger. Nice CT - 7/10, but HT is about a 6/10 - I have to be RIGHT over it to get it. Seems more formulated towards perfume

Love it! I wasn't sure if I loved it or just liked it at first, straight out of bottle, but I knew OOB doesn't work for every scent. Tested in PA and as a body oil, and it's great! It's very unique. It's sweet yes but not in a typical bakery gourmand way. Very unique, complex and like most of SM's fragrances, smells expensive!

I saw this quote about Oriana, “It’s too sweet, too much, but somehow you can’t get enough.” and it’s so true. This level of sweet is not usually my thing, but a girl can change. If Orange Petal Marshmallow Whip didn’t do it for you, try this. I feel like this is OPMW’s older sister.

Amazing! This smells just as described—sweet and fruity! I also got Orange Petal Marshmallow Whip and they do smell similar, I’d say this one smells more fruity whereas the other one smells more sweet. LOVE THEM BOTH!

I’m not a gourmand girlie, or so I thought, but this baby is scrumptious. It reminds me of the local spice store where I buy a lot of my hard to find ingredients. They have amazing baklava and that was my first memory upon sniffing this one on the blotter.

The hot throw on this one in Coconut wax is VERY good! Down the hall and up the stairs good, all from a single wick test candle. OOB and CT, this fragrance was a tie with Miel D'Oranger but the HT is really hitting a home run! Good job!

I love this oil. The original Oriana by PDM is so sweet it’s cloying. To my nose, SM’s is a bit lighter, so much less cloying. Used for perfume, Fruity Dolce creates the perfect scent bubble of fruity marshmallow goodness in perfume.
