About Fragrance Oil
  • The fragrance oils sold by Scent Memory are a manufacturing product. They are not skin safe on their own and must be diluted prior to use. 
  • Our oils are formulated to generally work in candle and body care applications, but must be tested for compatibility in your product. 
  • Due to the concentration of the oils safety precautions must be taken when handling them. 

What are fragrance oils?

Fragrance oils are synthetic or blended aromatic compounds designed to mimic natural scents or create entirely new ones. Unlike essential oils, which are extracted from plants, fragrance oils are crafted by blending aromatic chemicals and natural extracts. This careful formulation allows for a wide range of scents that may not be possible to achieve with essential oils alone and also allows for greater safety and performance in their applications. 

How Can Fragrance Oils Be Used?

Though they smell beautiful on their own, fragrance oils are a manufacturing product and must be diluted prior to use. They can be formulated for one specific purpose (such as for soap or in a candle) or for a wider range of applications - however, no one fragrance oil will work in ALL applications, so testing your products is a must. The fragrance oils that Scent Memory Fragrance offer are generally formulated to be safe in candle and body care applications. 

Are Fragrance Oils Safe On Their Own?

Just like any concentrated product, care must be used in handling fragrance oils prior to dilution in product. Every fragrance oil product page contains the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) in the "Regulatory Documents" tab. Download and review prior to using the fragrance oil. 
Safety Information
  • Fragrance oils are a manufacturing product used in making candles, soap and other products. They must be diluted before use.
  • Refer to the IFRA tab for maximum skin safety usage rates, and review the IFRA document carefully. 
  • Maximum usage rates refer to skin safety percentages only and are not recommendations for usage rates in products or formulas. Refer to your formula for the recommended usage rate, and do not use the fragrance oil if the IFRA rate is not rated highly enough for use in your product. 
  • Download and review the SDS (Safety Data Sheet) document provided in the IFRA & SDS tab. Follow all safety guidelines recommended. Do not allow contact with skin or ingest. Follow all IFRA guidelines for dilution in product.  Care should be used in handling at all times.

For our Canadian Friends: we highly recommend Shippsy.com as a package forwarder. UPS charges very high brokerage fees and duty on oils even if they are manufactured in the United States. Shippsy will not charge these fees if a commercial invoice showing the oil origin is provided. We are happy to provide this upon request. You are responsible to ensure all import regulations are followed, including documentation and product approval. Scent Memory is responsible only for delivery to a US domestic address and consider orders closed once delivery confirmation is received.

International Shipping: At this time Scent Memory only ships within the United States and its territories. We are responsible only for delivery to a US domestic address and consider orders closed once delivery confirmation is received.

Shipping Policy: Scent Memory ships orders through the United States Postal Service and UPS. All orders are assigned tracking numbers which are transmitted to the customer within 24 hours of shipping.

Orders that are marked as delivered by the shipping carrier are considered complete. Scent Memory is not responsible for stolen or missing packages after the carrier conveys delivered status. Individuals should work with their local post office or UPS location to identify exact location of delivery.

Returned Packages: In the event of a returned package due to undeliverable location, customer refusal or incorrect address, Scent Memory will send the customer and invoice for redelivery. If this is not paid, a refund on the purchase will be made minus the original delivery fee.

Damaged Packages: In the event of a damaged package please contact info@scentmemoryfragrance.com with pictures of the packaging and the product, with a description of and the extent of the damage. This is required for Scent Memory to file a shipping damage claim.

I must admit, this one had me worried when I smelled it OOB. Thankfully, it's much better in use. I pick up the tobacco, incense, and cedarwood, but no cinnamon (yet). This has a pleasant and unassuming masculine profile. .

In perfume this was a fascinating one indeed, it does bear a lot of resemblance to the inspiration, however it had a slightly different top & mid note that was prominent to me. I mostly picked up a dry vanilla, accompanied by a hint of tobacco / pepper and incense, and some strong animal note in the beginning. Maybe that came from whatever pepperwood ingredients used? Or perhaps just a confluence if notes emulating that sorta accord. Not sure but it opens with a vanilla that is pepper-y with a sweet musk, and also kinda like the review said below, has like a beastly note like saliva or hot breath. I was not expecting this vanille to be next to a punchy animalic in the start, and it always fades off & dries down to a clean pretty skin scent with that vanilla lingering. Hold Me Close name works for sure, I can't stop spritzing & sampling it! 4 outta 5 stars, the original really had my expectations up is all, but this take on it is a good one for sure.

I always value your opinion :) We never promise that a fragrance oil will be identical to its fine fragrance counterpart, which is why we are 'inspired' by them rather than 'duping' them - I ultimately hope people will enjoy them for what they are, luxurious fragrances inspired by the best fragrances in the world while also being wonderful in their own right.

Hear me out… I hated this at first sniff. Hated. Thought it smelled like morning breath. That being said, once this dried down on the blotter, all of the notes magically morphed into something wonderful and unusual, with a strong vanilla scent. I find this to be a very smeggsy vanilla with a bit of an edge to it. I think it’s the labdanum that gives it that first stanky note, but I promise it dries down to a beautiful and complex scent.

Really, 3.5 stars for me. I just want something more in this. In wax, it's fine but it doesn't grab my attention too much. Partially that is just personal preference but Partially because the CT & HT are mild to moderate in my coconut wax. It's not bad. It's fine.

So both this FO and dancing in the moonlight changed so much once in wax. I literally can't figure out which is which. Even though they are nothing alike. Both are amazing and to my nose unisex. Again they are different to one another. Both are crazy good. Don't judge either out the bottle.
