About Fragrance Oil
  • The fragrance oils sold by Scent Memory are a manufacturing product. They are not skin safe on their own and must be diluted prior to use. 
  • Our oils are formulated to generally work in candle and body care applications, but must be tested for compatibility in your product. 
  • Due to the concentration of the oils safety precautions must be taken when handling them. 

What are fragrance oils?

Fragrance oils are synthetic or blended aromatic compounds designed to mimic natural scents or create entirely new ones. Unlike essential oils, which are extracted from plants, fragrance oils are crafted by blending aromatic chemicals and natural extracts. This careful formulation allows for a wide range of scents that may not be possible to achieve with essential oils alone and also allows for greater safety and performance in their applications. 

How Can Fragrance Oils Be Used?

Though they smell beautiful on their own, fragrance oils are a manufacturing product and must be diluted prior to use. They can be formulated for one specific purpose (such as for soap or in a candle) or for a wider range of applications - however, no one fragrance oil will work in ALL applications, so testing your products is a must. The fragrance oils that Scent Memory Fragrance offer are generally formulated to be safe in candle and body care applications. 

Are Fragrance Oils Safe On Their Own?

Just like any concentrated product, care must be used in handling fragrance oils prior to dilution in product. Every fragrance oil product page contains the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) in the "Regulatory Documents" tab. Download and review prior to using the fragrance oil.

  • Fragrance oils are a manufacturing product used in making candles, soap and other products. They must be diluted before use.
  • Refer to the IFRA tab for maximum skin safety usage rates, and review the IFRA document carefully. 
  • Maximum usage rates refer to skin safety percentages only and are not recommendations for usage rates in products or formulas. Refer to your formula for the recommended usage rate, and do not use the fragrance oil if the IFRA rate is not rated highly enough for use in your product. 
  • Download and review the SDS (Safety Data Sheet) document provided in the IFRA & SDS tab. Follow all safety guidelines recommended. Do not allow contact with skin or ingest. Follow all IFRA guidelines for dilution in product.  Care should be used in handling at all times.

For our Canadian Friends: we highly recommend Shippsy.com as a package forwarder. UPS charges very high brokerage fees and duty on oils even if they are manufactured in the United States. Shippsy will not charge these fees if a commercial invoice showing the oil origin is provided. We are happy to provide this upon request. You are responsible to ensure all import regulations are followed, including documentation and product approval. Scent Memory is responsible only for delivery to a US domestic address and consider orders closed once delivery confirmation is received.

International Shipping: At this time Scent Memory only ships within the United States and its territories. We are responsible only for delivery to a US domestic address and consider orders closed once delivery confirmation is received.

Shipping Policy: Scent Memory ships orders through the United States Postal Service and UPS. All orders are assigned tracking numbers which are transmitted to the customer within 24 hours of shipping.

Orders that are marked as delivered by the shipping carrier are considered complete. Scent Memory is not responsible for stolen or missing packages after the carrier conveys delivered status. Individuals should work with their local post office or UPS location to identify exact location of delivery.

Returned Packages: In the event of a returned package due to undeliverable location, customer refusal or incorrect address, Scent Memory will send the customer and invoice for redelivery. If this is not paid, a refund on the purchase will be made minus the original delivery fee.

Damaged Packages: In the event of a damaged package please contact info@scentmemoryfragrance.com with pictures of the packaging and the product, with a description of and the extent of the damage. This is required for Scent Memory to file a shipping damage claim.

I only make candles but don't think this is a great use for the f.o. In apricot paraffin blend the ht is good but the the scent profile is not as warm or inviting as I thought it might be. There's actually a sharpness to my nose which I don't love. Maybe it's the pinene, limonene, eugenol and cinnamon aldehyde. Its almost nose clearing quality that has a sharp terpene like vibe.

I've made wax melts and foaming salt scrub with fragrance and I love it. As others have noted it has a similar vibe to Cognac and Spiced Praline, but they are different enough to warrant trying both. It's a very beautiful and sophisticated scent with great HT in soy wax melts.

Throws wonderfully in Seda Cerica at 8-9 %. The fragrance is as described. Warm & inviting, intriguing and sensual.

This is quite a unique scent! It is great for fall, but I actually sold it in spring and it still did well. It's great for something warm and cozy that isn't super gourmand. It does take a few extra days to cure in soy wax.

It's AMAZING1

I used this FO in my soap today. I did pretest so see how it would react and all was fantastic. No ricing, no acceleration, no soap on a stick so I was good to go. This FO thinned out my batter! It almost looked like it reduced trace! So, I stick blended again to make sure and all was great! I had a plan for the FO because I assumed it would turn brown. I didn't want it dark brown to I added TD. To my surprise, it's now a creamy light- yellow color. It is beautiful! I've NEVER had this happen before, so I went and peeked at it to see if my eyes were playing tricks on me, and it's getting even LIGHTER around the edges! And so far, the scent throw is AMAZING! I wish I could upload pictures for y'all. I'm not sure if this is some sort of color morph but I am gob smacked! If the color does change to a dark brown, I will update. This fragrance...I just can't stop smelling it! I love it soooo much! I've made bath bombs, cream, lotion, body mist and now soap with it and it just keeps being amazing1 It's a keeper in my line for schnizzle me dizzle!

This is such a intriguing fragrance. It is gourmand but in a very unique way. I don't normally like gourmand fragrances but I can't stop smelling this. I know people who do like gourmand will be impressed with this taking it to a higher level. As for me, I would smell it over & over to figure it out and then again because it captivated me

Like Angel Share

For my nose Angel Share is deceptively complex. So is this FO. I've yet to try it in wax, but in CP it's amazing!! I got a light brown discoloration. Honestly, I'm surprised there are not more reviews on this one. I highly recommend going straight for the big bottle!

This is absolutely amazing, great throw in wax both candles and melts. This fragrance is sophisticated. The fragrance is very rich and well rounded. You can use it as a stand-alone or as a blend. This would make a great fragrance for the autumn season.

MAJESTIC

Oajan is one of the most incredible scents I have ever smelled. To me, its a warm decadent gourmand, that reminds me of something Middle Eastern. It's also a bit masculine leaning which I am a sucker for. I love, love, LOVE this rich scent!
