About Fragrance Oil
  • The fragrance oils sold by Scent Memory are a manufacturing product. They are not skin safe on their own and must be diluted prior to use. 
  • Our oils are formulated to generally work in candle and body care applications, but must be tested for compatibility in your product. 
  • Due to the concentration of the oils safety precautions must be taken when handling them. 

What are fragrance oils?

Fragrance oils are synthetic or blended aromatic compounds designed to mimic natural scents or create entirely new ones. Unlike essential oils, which are extracted from plants, fragrance oils are crafted by blending aromatic chemicals and natural extracts. This careful formulation allows for a wide range of scents that may not be possible to achieve with essential oils alone and also allows for greater safety and performance in their applications. 

How Can Fragrance Oils Be Used?

Though they smell beautiful on their own, fragrance oils are a manufacturing product and must be diluted prior to use. They can be formulated for one specific purpose (such as for soap or in a candle) or for a wider range of applications - however, no one fragrance oil will work in ALL applications, so testing your products is a must. The fragrance oils that Scent Memory Fragrance offer are generally formulated to be safe in candle and body care applications. 

Are Fragrance Oils Safe On Their Own?

Just like any concentrated product, care must be used in handling fragrance oils prior to dilution in product. Every fragrance oil product page contains the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) in the "Regulatory Documents" tab. Download and review prior to using the fragrance oil.

  • Fragrance oils are a manufacturing product used in making candles, soap and other products. They must be diluted before use.
  • Refer to the IFRA tab for maximum skin safety usage rates, and review the IFRA document carefully. 
  • Maximum usage rates refer to skin safety percentages only and are not recommendations for usage rates in products or formulas. Refer to your formula for the recommended usage rate, and do not use the fragrance oil if the IFRA rate is not rated highly enough for use in your product. 
  • Download and review the SDS (Safety Data Sheet) document provided in the IFRA & SDS tab. Follow all safety guidelines recommended. Do not allow contact with skin or ingest. Follow all IFRA guidelines for dilution in product.  Care should be used in handling at all times.

For our Canadian Friends: we highly recommend Shippsy.com as a package forwarder. UPS charges very high brokerage fees and duty on oils even if they are manufactured in the United States. Shippsy will not charge these fees if a commercial invoice showing the oil origin is provided. We are happy to provide this upon request. You are responsible to ensure all import regulations are followed, including documentation and product approval. Scent Memory is responsible only for delivery to a US domestic address and consider orders closed once delivery confirmation is received.

International Shipping: At this time Scent Memory only ships within the United States and its territories. We are responsible only for delivery to a US domestic address and consider orders closed once delivery confirmation is received.

Shipping Policy: Scent Memory ships orders through the United States Postal Service and UPS. All orders are assigned tracking numbers which are transmitted to the customer within 24 hours of shipping.

Orders that are marked as delivered by the shipping carrier are considered complete. Scent Memory is not responsible for stolen or missing packages after the carrier conveys delivered status. Individuals should work with their local post office or UPS location to identify exact location of delivery.

Returned Packages: In the event of a returned package due to undeliverable location, customer refusal or incorrect address, Scent Memory will send the customer and invoice for redelivery. If this is not paid, a refund on the purchase will be made minus the original delivery fee.

Damaged Packages: In the event of a damaged package please contact info@scentmemoryfragrance.com with pictures of the packaging and the product, with a description of and the extent of the damage. This is required for Scent Memory to file a shipping damage claim.

For me, this one ranks up there with Mimosa Petals as a great expensive-smelling soft fragrance. So sophisticated and balanced, floral without being overly sweet. Personally I like this best in perfume and it wears really well.

I have adored this fragrance since I started ordering fragrances from SM. This one is luscious, deep, and just gorgeous. As soon as I smelled it, I had to order it in a larger bottle. This is one of those fragrances that I wish I could put into soap, but it's too beautiful to not find a use for it.

I’m generally not a fan of powdery, uber-feminine florals, but I gave it a chance, and it has changed my mind. While it is all of those things, the feedback I’ve had from people has been surprising - especially men. It was easy to wick in coco apricot, so that’s a big plus. While the IFRA isn’t high enough for soap, I could see it being a winner in lotions.

Just Amazing

Such an elegant and beautiful fragrance. It may be one of my favorites of all time. I'm getting a more feminine feel from it (florals), but could be pleasing to all sexes. However, we are not talking pretty cutesy florals here... We are talking about gorgeous florals combined with depth and mystery (amber and patchouli), that somehow pulls off feeling fresh, mysterious, sexy, and beautiful with refinement all at the same time. Just before that depth begins to get murky or heavy and perfumey, the other notes elevate the entire fragrance. In trying to describe the intensity of the fragrance, I will do my best to explain the experience as a person who is not a perfumer. In a candle, the CT and HT are VERY substantial without being cloying or grandma's old perfume, or perfume that you wish you had misted and only walked through without spraying it directly onto yourself. It's musky, but not musty. It gives the illusion of being light, but it's not. I've been doing this for a few years now and can honestly say I have HATED 99% of all floral fragrances out there, but lost my mind in a good way over this one! It's an Amal, not a Jennifer.

OOB Exotic Orchid was NOT my favorite so I kept pushing her to the back of my oil stash. One day I thought Give Her a Chance. I wore her as a perfume fragrance...everyone at work asked what was I wearing, they loved the fragrance. Many mentioned it was a soft and unusual scent. A Great Thrower!

Lovely cold throw, but boy oh boy...this is lovely in wax! I want to make a perfume next. A super sexy floral. Not sure how anyone could read this as light as I find it quite intense.
