About Fragrance Oil
  • The fragrance oils sold by Scent Memory are a manufacturing product. They are not skin safe on their own and must be diluted prior to use. 
  • Our oils are formulated to generally work in candle and body care applications, but must be tested for compatibility in your product. 
  • Due to the concentration of the oils safety precautions must be taken when handling them. 

What are fragrance oils?

Fragrance oils are synthetic or blended aromatic compounds designed to mimic natural scents or create entirely new ones. Unlike essential oils, which are extracted from plants, fragrance oils are crafted by blending aromatic chemicals and natural extracts. This careful formulation allows for a wide range of scents that may not be possible to achieve with essential oils alone and also allows for greater safety and performance in their applications. 

How Can Fragrance Oils Be Used?

Though they smell beautiful on their own, fragrance oils are a manufacturing product and must be diluted prior to use. They can be formulated for one specific purpose (such as for soap or in a candle) or for a wider range of applications - however, no one fragrance oil will work in ALL applications, so testing your products is a must. The fragrance oils that Scent Memory Fragrance offer are generally formulated to be safe in candle and body care applications. 

Are Fragrance Oils Safe On Their Own?

Just like any concentrated product, care must be used in handling fragrance oils prior to dilution in product. Every fragrance oil product page contains the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) in the "Regulatory Documents" tab. Download and review prior to using the fragrance oil. 
Safety Information
  • Fragrance oils are a manufacturing product used in making candles, soap and other products. They must be diluted before use.
  • Refer to the IFRA tab for maximum skin safety usage rates, and review the IFRA document carefully. 
  • Maximum usage rates refer to skin safety percentages only and are not recommendations for usage rates in products or formulas. Refer to your formula for the recommended usage rate, and do not use the fragrance oil if the IFRA rate is not rated highly enough for use in your product. 
  • Download and review the SDS (Safety Data Sheet) document provided in the IFRA & SDS tab. Follow all safety guidelines recommended. Do not allow contact with skin or ingest. Follow all IFRA guidelines for dilution in product.  Care should be used in handling at all times.

For our Canadian Friends: we highly recommend Shippsy.com as a package forwarder. UPS charges very high brokerage fees and duty on oils even if they are manufactured in the United States. Shippsy will not charge these fees if a commercial invoice showing the oil origin is provided. We are happy to provide this upon request. You are responsible to ensure all import regulations are followed, including documentation and product approval. Scent Memory is responsible only for delivery to a US domestic address and consider orders closed once delivery confirmation is received.

International Shipping: At this time Scent Memory only ships within the United States and its territories. We are responsible only for delivery to a US domestic address and consider orders closed once delivery confirmation is received.

Shipping Policy: Scent Memory ships orders through the United States Postal Service and UPS. All orders are assigned tracking numbers which are transmitted to the customer within 24 hours of shipping.

Orders that are marked as delivered by the shipping carrier are considered complete. Scent Memory is not responsible for stolen or missing packages after the carrier conveys delivered status. Individuals should work with their local post office or UPS location to identify exact location of delivery.

Returned Packages: In the event of a returned package due to undeliverable location, customer refusal or incorrect address, Scent Memory will send the customer and invoice for redelivery. If this is not paid, a refund on the purchase will be made minus the original delivery fee.

Damaged Packages: In the event of a damaged package please contact info@scentmemoryfragrance.com with pictures of the packaging and the product, with a description of and the extent of the damage. This is required for Scent Memory to file a shipping damage claim.

I love this scent, but sad that it fades quickly in CP soap (behaved well, though.) It's great as a perfume, but I'm having trouble with longevity. It's a great tea scent nonetheless - the little bit of smokiness makes it stand out - so I'll find a use for it if it kills me. Perhaps creams or candles next?

Dear Polly changed my mind on tea scents. This has a bit of a less smoky smell to it than Dear Polly, but it's absolutely beautiful. Very oaky and black tea-forward, with a bright burst of fruit. Love it!

Simply amazing. Made a perfume as usual, and this really reminds me of a boba-tea body wash. Almost exactly like one that I had, it has a very clean and familiar note that leans feminine. Couldn't say it reminded me of regular tea, but really evoked that bubble tea soap aroma. A review below mentioned smokiness but sadly I detected zero smoke

This is a personal favorite for me, a daily wear! First sniff OOB may be a little deceiving, I was surprised it was a little dustier/smokier than the sample packet id fallen in love with - but I found once I let the perfume sit for a few weeks - the scent really opened up and bloomed into exactly what I was hoping for! The black tea and oak moss do nod to a sexy kind of dusty note, but it opens up to shed light on the bright apple note - it's not like a heavy orchard apple, but rather it lends a beautiful soft sweetness and subtle brightness to the blend. This is truly a very unique, elevated, and refined sexy scent. I will never get over this fragrance, PLEASE don't sleep on this one!

Give this one try! It's unique & unisex. It's not at all what I thought it would be but I really, really like it! It has a tea note for sure but it's more of an elevated, artistic interpretation of tea, if that makes sense. To my nose, I'd put in more in the family of Silk Pajamas and Silk Boxers than in a family with Thé Earl Grey, Black Tea & Grapefruit Mate or Sweet Sun Tea. I happen to like all the SM tea FOs a lot and so I wasn't looking for another tea scent. This one is it's own thing & it's a really good thing

From the listed description and notes, I expected this to smell different. I was pleasantly surprised when I smelled it out of the bottle. I would not categorize it as a very tea-forward fragrance. Yes, the zesty tea notes are prominent in the beginning (the bergamot, especially), but they are grounded by the amber and oakmoss. Interestingly, the amber and oakmoss smell more like dusty oak or cedarwood to me (in a good way.) IMHO, this is a really nice unisex fragrance that is great for making perfumes and other body/bath products. It's kinda sexy, honestly, but fresh enough to wear in casual settings. I only wish it was a little stronger, but since I only received it yesterday, it might project better with time.

A gorgeous and strong black tea fragrance. With notes of fruit, and also a hint of spice, this oil blossoms once put into a product. I've made this into a perfume with PA and it's quickly become one of my favorites! I can't wait to put it into wax melts next.

Please, Please, PLEASE do not judge this strictly OOB. I know we all do it and it's tempting to write off a scent judging it this way, but this one truly blossoms once applied (in my case) to wax and denatured alcohol for perfume. It's beautiful and ambery and deep and complex. Absolutely amazing. Don't overlook this one.

I don't know why but this smells super smoky to me, like a pretty smoker wearing perfume. Maybe it's the oakmoss, but I can't get past the smokiness. If you're looking for a smoky tea scent, you might like this
