Don't Go In The Basement

Very good quality order and good description, but the decaying fruit is what came through for me the most, and I was looking for more "dark and dank" and musty. Still a really great oil, just a little too fruit forward for me.

This one is special. I love the damp, mildewy, basement-y notes this one gives. I've never had anything else from any other company out there. The hint of fermented fruit helps brighten it up a bit, but all of the dank notes are there. The hot and cold throw are great after curing for a few weeks. It won't be everyone's cup of tea, but if you want to recreate the smell of an old basement, you can't go wrong with this one. It's perfect!

Ok, you can't use this on its own unless it's for novelty purpose or if you dig dusty mildew smell, then this is for you. I think this would work more if blended with something else :)

OMG!!..I LOVE this FO. I'm one of those weirdoes who love the smell of musty old creepy basements, attics, dungeons & things. LOL
I have tried a few & noone dors it better than Scent Memory. OOB I wasn't sure but I tried it in my warmer with a little bit of water & omg, let me tell you, it's dead on that of a musty, old creepy basement. The dust, mildew & dirt are very prominent & you can smell the cement & rotten fruit too but that's faint . It's perfect to my nose!
I have some wax melts curing right now with KY parasoy wax @ 10% so we'll see how it performs in a couple weeks.
But love it so far as it diffuser in my warmer.

I have an affinity for odd and otherwise weird scents so I was so excited to try this, it actually pulled my sad a*s out of hiatus to pour some candles. Because whoooo is out here looking for basement scented anything?! I had to smell it. And well, I love it. It definitely smells dusty, a little earthy and very much like a smooth rock at times so it’s off putting, especially out the bottle. In a candle, the scent flows along with the air current and you catch subtle and strong whiffs of it at different corners of the house. It’s so cool and atmospheric. Subconsciously I found myself starting to ask “What the h*ll smells like old — oh.” and laughed once I realized it’s the FRICKEN candle. I like that it’s weird but still good enough to for folks to enjoy around the house. Not overly strong but airy and light for the most part, in a good way. I tested 8% in coconut olive oil wax double wicked, 3 days and then 1+ month cures.

Knowing SM has amazing oils, I was so excited to try this. I was a touch nervous by the notes and wondered if it would be too niche. OOB I thought 'yep that's funky!' but threw it into c55 tart wax no hesitation. YOU. GUYS. It's amazing and quickly became my favorite for fall! It's definitely immersive and has that damp watery stone note, as well as the gentle touch of fruit, but it's seriously such a cool fall/halloween scent, or even graveyard/mausoleum if that's your product vibe!

As soon as I got a look at the notes, I immediately placed an order because it was just so WEIRD and unique but I knew somehow it couldn't go wrong! The longer I sniff, the more notes I get! At first, OOB I ABSOLUTELY smell the mildew and aging wood... But there's a bit of sweetness behind it, which is the forgotten fruit! I poured a tiny bit into my wax warmer with some 464 and it bloomed even more - it became less mildew while still retaining that note and more fruit. It seriously smells like a damp, spooky basement with sweet, rotting fruit left on a dusty old wooden shelf. Not unpleasant at all and PERFECT for something spooky and different that you won't find anywhere else.

Zero problems in CP. Not a hint of discoloration. I happen to have company visiting when I received this fo. Nobody liked it. It was an immediate stink face. This made me happy, as it's my experience that those fragrances bloom in product. Sure enough, this is completely different in soap than otb. Concrete and dust are prominent for my nose. Only complaint is that it's a little weak in strength.

I was hesitant to buy this because I thought it would be stinky, but I was looking for something unique for a Halloween-themed candle and decided to take the risk and go for it. I'm not regretting it!! It's PERFECT for what I needed it for! Oh my goodness! It smells like a dump basement that was closed for ages and full of mud and other interesting stuff. Thank you!

Very curious scent. The strongest notes to me are a cinnamon stone fruit combo OOB. I think I really need to get it into wax to see
How the scent develops. I honestly was really hoping for dank mildew notes of an old basement, but it just didn’t hit me straight out the bottle. I’ll have to come back to update once I play with it a bit. Perhaps those note are just hiding on me. It is a dark basement after all

When I first sniffed this ootb, I said, “holy s***.” Not because I didn’t like it, but because I loved it! It’s stanky y'all, in the best way, like dirt and earth mixed with a little funk. But you know what?! This would make the BEST Halloween scent. I’m thinking haunted graveyard, Thriller, abandoned asylum, bat cave, you get the drift. This is probably what the basement in AHS smells like…dank, creepy, old. If you want a creepy scent, THIS IS IT.

Eerie! This scent is so intriguing, I keep coming back to this one out of all the new releases. I have MANY Scent Memory fragrances and this is quickly becoming a favorite. A lovely blend of fruit notes and woods, if you're skeptical of this one, don't be it's magnificent and a unique one for fall!
