About Fragrance Oil
  • The fragrance oils sold by Scent Memory are a manufacturing product. They are not skin safe on their own and must be diluted prior to use. 
  • Our oils are formulated to generally work in candle and body care applications, but must be tested for compatibility in your product. 
  • Due to the concentration of the oils safety precautions must be taken when handling them. 

What are fragrance oils?

Fragrance oils are synthetic or blended aromatic compounds designed to mimic natural scents or create entirely new ones. Unlike essential oils, which are extracted from plants, fragrance oils are crafted by blending aromatic chemicals and natural extracts. This careful formulation allows for a wide range of scents that may not be possible to achieve with essential oils alone and also allows for greater safety and performance in their applications. 

How Can Fragrance Oils Be Used?

Though they smell beautiful on their own, fragrance oils are a manufacturing product and must be diluted prior to use. They can be formulated for one specific purpose (such as for soap or in a candle) or for a wider range of applications - however, no one fragrance oil will work in ALL applications, so testing your products is a must. The fragrance oils that Scent Memory Fragrance offer are generally formulated to be safe in candle and body care applications. 

Are Fragrance Oils Safe On Their Own?

Just like any concentrated product, care must be used in handling fragrance oils prior to dilution in product. Every fragrance oil product page contains the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) in the "Regulatory Documents" tab. Download and review prior to using the fragrance oil. 
Safety Information
  • Fragrance oils are a manufacturing product used in making candles, soap and other products. They must be diluted before use.
  • Refer to the IFRA tab for maximum skin safety usage rates, and review the IFRA document carefully. 
  • Maximum usage rates refer to skin safety percentages only and are not recommendations for usage rates in products or formulas. Refer to your formula for the recommended usage rate, and do not use the fragrance oil if the IFRA rate is not rated highly enough for use in your product. 
  • Download and review the SDS (Safety Data Sheet) document provided in the IFRA & SDS tab. Follow all safety guidelines recommended. Do not allow contact with skin or ingest. Follow all IFRA guidelines for dilution in product.  Care should be used in handling at all times.

For our Canadian Friends: we highly recommend Shippsy.com as a package forwarder. UPS charges very high brokerage fees and duty on oils even if they are manufactured in the United States. Shippsy will not charge these fees if a commercial invoice showing the oil origin is provided. We are happy to provide this upon request. You are responsible to ensure all import regulations are followed, including documentation and product approval. Scent Memory is responsible only for delivery to a US domestic address and consider orders closed once delivery confirmation is received.

International Shipping: At this time Scent Memory only ships within the United States and its territories. We are responsible only for delivery to a US domestic address and consider orders closed once delivery confirmation is received.

Shipping Policy: Scent Memory ships orders through the United States Postal Service and UPS. All orders are assigned tracking numbers which are transmitted to the customer within 24 hours of shipping.

Orders that are marked as delivered by the shipping carrier are considered complete. Scent Memory is not responsible for stolen or missing packages after the carrier conveys delivered status. Individuals should work with their local post office or UPS location to identify exact location of delivery.

Returned Packages: In the event of a returned package due to undeliverable location, customer refusal or incorrect address, Scent Memory will send the customer and invoice for redelivery. If this is not paid, a refund on the purchase will be made minus the original delivery fee.

Damaged Packages: In the event of a damaged package please contact info@scentmemoryfragrance.com with pictures of the packaging and the product, with a description of and the extent of the damage. This is required for Scent Memory to file a shipping damage claim.

Both something special and a bit disappointing. In soy wax, CT is good and scent matches from on the blotter, but at 8% after a 2wk cure, HT/projection is light. Scent is wonderful within a foot or two, but does not carry. Upping the % may help, or a parafin blend may boost HT; another week of curing may help, too with the majority deep/base notes in the FO. Already wicked up one size for beeswax blend and FO considerations. Really wanted this to perform, and won’t throw in the towel yet, but another reviewer shared similar HT issues. This definitely would shine in other home products.

Gorgeous scent! The spice is not overwhelming but yet enough to provide a comforting scent. I received a sample and had to order a large bottle. I can't wait to add this to my 2026 line.

I really love this scent in a candle! It’s an extremely classy, unusual wood scent and the hot throw is beautiful. I’m only deducting one star because it doesn’t perform as well in an oil diffuser—there’s a slightly musty note that adds intriguing depth in a candle, but comes across as distinctly moldy in a diffuser. Still, absolutely worth a sniff!

A very beautiful unisex fragrance. I use this in candles and perfume and it really speaks to a wide range of customers. I find it very sophisticated. The description is spot on. It really does add depth to any room it inhabits.

Upscale in a very 1800’s kind of way. The first word that came to my mind was “baroque.” The vision that popped into my head when I smelled it was a ballroom with freshly waxed, mahogany floors and a dance floor lined with beeswax tapers, flickering near tables laden with food, overflowing with heavy jugs of wine, and a rich chocolate dessert with orange glaze. The women are dripping with diamonds, wearing sequined gowns, and maybe even a tiara…somewhere in Paris. It’s heavy, delicious, and intriguing. I could not get a strong throw in coconut wax, but it makes a wonderful spray.

Not my favorite scent, but it performs well in a candle and is very true to the description and picture graphic. You get the spice, the waxed wood floors, the mahogany, and a hint of orange zest. It’s a unique scent that’s masculine and intriguing.

A unisex scent that’s perfect for spa-inspired products, in that it promotes a feeling of relaxation and that “ahh” reaction you want in an aromatherapy-type fragrance. Used in massage oil, room spray and diffusers, with soap and candles next.

Like a sacred place that has been lovingly cared for for 100s of years. It's not just the product used on the wood... It's the smell of the product with the wood. Add some cologne complexity and that is what this fragrance is. I've not crafted with it, but can not wait. Also, it might be shy otb but get it on your skin and it comes alive! Not sure why there have not been reviews for this, but I suspect some might want to keep it to themselves. 😝
