About Fragrance Oil
  • The fragrance oils sold by Scent Memory are a manufacturing product. They are not skin safe on their own and must be diluted prior to use. 
  • Our oils are formulated to generally work in candle and body care applications, but must be tested for compatibility in your product. 
  • Due to the concentration of the oils safety precautions must be taken when handling them. 

What are fragrance oils?

Fragrance oils are synthetic or blended aromatic compounds designed to mimic natural scents or create entirely new ones. Unlike essential oils, which are extracted from plants, fragrance oils are crafted by blending aromatic chemicals and natural extracts. This careful formulation allows for a wide range of scents that may not be possible to achieve with essential oils alone and also allows for greater safety and performance in their applications. 

How Can Fragrance Oils Be Used?

Though they smell beautiful on their own, fragrance oils are a manufacturing product and must be diluted prior to use. They can be formulated for one specific purpose (such as for soap or in a candle) or for a wider range of applications - however, no one fragrance oil will work in ALL applications, so testing your products is a must. The fragrance oils that Scent Memory Fragrance offer are generally formulated to be safe in candle and body care applications. 

Are Fragrance Oils Safe On Their Own?

Just like any concentrated product, care must be used in handling fragrance oils prior to dilution in product. Every fragrance oil product page contains the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) in the "Regulatory Documents" tab. Download and review prior to using the fragrance oil.

  • Fragrance oils are a manufacturing product used in making candles, soap and other products. They must be diluted before use.
  • Refer to the IFRA tab for maximum skin safety usage rates, and review the IFRA document carefully. 
  • Maximum usage rates refer to skin safety percentages only and are not recommendations for usage rates in products or formulas. Refer to your formula for the recommended usage rate, and do not use the fragrance oil if the IFRA rate is not rated highly enough for use in your product. 
  • Download and review the SDS (Safety Data Sheet) document provided in the IFRA & SDS tab. Follow all safety guidelines recommended. Do not allow contact with skin or ingest. Follow all IFRA guidelines for dilution in product.  Care should be used in handling at all times.

For our Canadian Friends: we highly recommend Shippsy.com as a package forwarder. UPS charges very high brokerage fees and duty on oils even if they are manufactured in the United States. Shippsy will not charge these fees if a commercial invoice showing the oil origin is provided. We are happy to provide this upon request. You are responsible to ensure all import regulations are followed, including documentation and product approval. Scent Memory is responsible only for delivery to a US domestic address and consider orders closed once delivery confirmation is received.

International Shipping: At this time Scent Memory only ships within the United States and its territories. We are responsible only for delivery to a US domestic address and consider orders closed once delivery confirmation is received.

Shipping Policy: Scent Memory ships orders through the United States Postal Service and UPS. All orders are assigned tracking numbers which are transmitted to the customer within 24 hours of shipping.

Orders that are marked as delivered by the shipping carrier are considered complete. Scent Memory is not responsible for stolen or missing packages after the carrier conveys delivered status. Individuals should work with their local post office or UPS location to identify exact location of delivery.

Returned Packages: In the event of a returned package due to undeliverable location, customer refusal or incorrect address, Scent Memory will send the customer and invoice for redelivery. If this is not paid, a refund on the purchase will be made minus the original delivery fee.

Damaged Packages: In the event of a damaged package please contact info@scentmemoryfragrance.com with pictures of the packaging and the product, with a description of and the extent of the damage. This is required for Scent Memory to file a shipping damage claim.

Limoncello & Oud in CP Soap

Maybe this warm (****) scent isn't for everyone but it is loved by myself and my customers. Aromatic is right. 'Smoky' and woody is right. And it sits in cold process soap like a dream, still strong at 5% usage over more than six months. The fragrance oil behaves in soap batter, allowing plenty of working time, and the discoloring is nominal. One could most definitely cut back the usage rate for this to come through beautifully. Limoncello & Oud is so good! :)

Not for me. There's a flatness to this scent on the scent strip and in a candle that i find kinda halting. I do think this is a scent men respond well to. Very dominant woodiness. In a candle i really couldn't pick up on many of the notes listed above.

Made a perfume, it's strong and very particular. I like it, and prefer it with some aromachems for best results. Bitter citrus peel scent alongside some woody notes; the woods that are composed to form the oud scent are very clean, almost like a sandalwood to my nose. Personally I put some extra oud ACs to fume it up a bit & make it really stun.

WHOOOOOAAAAAA!!!! This is simply amazing, soft, stunning, and deeply complex. I keep taking another sniff to fall only further in love with this one. Preforms great at 7-8% in Ceda Serica wax. I feel this is totally worth every penny.

You may need to get this scent and make some oil perfume! I think it is very much genderless and comes across as a high end scent with plenty of depth.
I have a thing for heavy woodsy notes accented with a citrus top notes and this one may be a new favorite (please don’t tell Tobacco and Tea Leaves that I have found another). When you try it in wax or oil, consider cutting back on your percentages (I feel this way about a lot of scents with patchouli). My favorite way to enjoy is in a coconut wax candle. While the notes are all heavy, the throw is not overpowering. Limoncello and oud also leaves scent trails that like to wind around my space in the most beautifully unexpected ways.

I also hesitated with this one for a long while because of the price but decided to try a small bottle to see if it's worth it. I'm both happy & sad to say it is worth it! It is quite strong and unique. The other reviews mentioned using it as a blender and I initially didn't get that. I, for fun, tried blending it with gossamer rose that also came in my order and I think that is incredible! The average of the two oils becomes more like upper middle class price range rather than Limoncello & Oud's upper upper class 😉

So much oud

If you need some expensive smelling oud, this is it! Soaps beautifully. Very little discoloration. It's strong too. In a candle it does throw, but I feel it's best as a blender. That's not a bad thing imo. It just means you can get this more expensive FO to go further. It's worth the money!!
