About Fragrance Oil
  • The fragrance oils sold by Scent Memory are a manufacturing product. They are not skin safe on their own and must be diluted prior to use. 
  • Our oils are formulated to generally work in candle and body care applications, but must be tested for compatibility in your product. 
  • Due to the concentration of the oils safety precautions must be taken when handling them. 

What are fragrance oils?

Fragrance oils are synthetic or blended aromatic compounds designed to mimic natural scents or create entirely new ones. Unlike essential oils, which are extracted from plants, fragrance oils are crafted by blending aromatic chemicals and natural extracts. This careful formulation allows for a wide range of scents that may not be possible to achieve with essential oils alone and also allows for greater safety and performance in their applications. 

How Can Fragrance Oils Be Used?

Though they smell beautiful on their own, fragrance oils are a manufacturing product and must be diluted prior to use. They can be formulated for one specific purpose (such as for soap or in a candle) or for a wider range of applications - however, no one fragrance oil will work in ALL applications, so testing your products is a must. The fragrance oils that Scent Memory Fragrance offer are generally formulated to be safe in candle and body care applications. 

Are Fragrance Oils Safe On Their Own?

Just like any concentrated product, care must be used in handling fragrance oils prior to dilution in product. Every fragrance oil product page contains the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) in the "Regulatory Documents" tab. Download and review prior to using the fragrance oil. 
Safety Information
  • Fragrance oils are a manufacturing product used in making candles, soap and other products. They must be diluted before use.
  • Refer to the IFRA tab for maximum skin safety usage rates, and review the IFRA document carefully. 
  • Maximum usage rates refer to skin safety percentages only and are not recommendations for usage rates in products or formulas. Refer to your formula for the recommended usage rate, and do not use the fragrance oil if the IFRA rate is not rated highly enough for use in your product. 
  • Download and review the SDS (Safety Data Sheet) document provided in the IFRA & SDS tab. Follow all safety guidelines recommended. Do not allow contact with skin or ingest. Follow all IFRA guidelines for dilution in product.  Care should be used in handling at all times.

For our Canadian Friends: we highly recommend Shippsy.com as a package forwarder. UPS charges very high brokerage fees and duty on oils even if they are manufactured in the United States. Shippsy will not charge these fees if a commercial invoice showing the oil origin is provided. We are happy to provide this upon request. You are responsible to ensure all import regulations are followed, including documentation and product approval. Scent Memory is responsible only for delivery to a US domestic address and consider orders closed once delivery confirmation is received.

International Shipping: At this time Scent Memory only ships within the United States and its territories. We are responsible only for delivery to a US domestic address and consider orders closed once delivery confirmation is received.

Shipping Policy: Scent Memory ships orders through the United States Postal Service and UPS. All orders are assigned tracking numbers which are transmitted to the customer within 24 hours of shipping.

Orders that are marked as delivered by the shipping carrier are considered complete. Scent Memory is not responsible for stolen or missing packages after the carrier conveys delivered status. Individuals should work with their local post office or UPS location to identify exact location of delivery.

Returned Packages: In the event of a returned package due to undeliverable location, customer refusal or incorrect address, Scent Memory will send the customer and invoice for redelivery. If this is not paid, a refund on the purchase will be made minus the original delivery fee.

Damaged Packages: In the event of a damaged package please contact info@scentmemoryfragrance.com with pictures of the packaging and the product, with a description of and the extent of the damage. This is required for Scent Memory to file a shipping damage claim.

Coudn't detect any fragrance

This scent was extremely weak OOB. I normally won't waste my time and money on using a scent that does not throw when first uncapped. In fairness though this has happened across numerous fragrance oil suppliers, not a ScentMemory problem alone. I bought along w/their Palo Santo and Woods and for that FO, the opposite - a little TOO much. I tried this in 7.20 % in coconut soy wax that I usually use, along with my top tier wicks. Let cure 10 days. No throw, hot or cold.

Love, love, LOVE this scent! I never gravitated much towards fig but I am SO glad i tried this one! A surprisingly fresh and complex scent to me, with hints of green and the black currant setting the stage for the beautiful Fig. I swear I can smell the sun shining down on a platter of fig and currant on a gorgeous Mediterranean day! A personal favorite.

Smells SO much like D******e Phil****s - I literally made the candle and even on cold throw (have to wait to burn but I am encouraged!), compared it to my lotion and it's dead on. Also: great customer service/delivery. I placed the order right before Xmas, received it right on time (day after Xmas). Not only will I be making another order, for sure getting this again.

I wanted to love this one so bad, but when I smelled it, I don’t know why, but the essence of Play-Doh came to mind. Yet when I mixed it with other oils. The current and fig essence came through. I was going to give it a three stars but like I said, when I mixed it, it worked out.

A beautiful green, earthy scent. I used this in soy 464 candles for my summer collection this year and this it’s absolutely stunning. Smells like a breath of fresh Mediterranean air on a hot summer afternoon!

Are you thinking “fig?!”? Well, let me help you with that: this scent is way more than a fruit scent. The cassis and pine notes bring the unexpected fresh and green notes. In fact, I consider this a green scent, softened with fig and rounded out with black currant. It’s both incredible and a little unexpected. Works very well for me in coconut wax and stands out in its uniqueness.

Like the other review, I too had zero problems with CP soap. I came back for the big bottle. To my nose this fragrance can work all year, but also has a Christmas vibe. I guess it's the cassis (which smells like cinnamon for me as I'm not fancy enough to distinguish the two). That said, I'm always leery with cinnamon notes in soap.... But this is just right. It might seem a little mild at first, but as it cured it got stronger.

Soap friendly

I used this at full IFRA in a triple butter CP soap. The scent is stable. It doesn’t accelerate or rice. In all it is ver soap friendly.
I used it as a early winter scent but would be nice year round.
