About Fragrance Oil
  • The fragrance oils sold by Scent Memory are a manufacturing product. They are not skin safe on their own and must be diluted prior to use. 
  • Our oils are formulated to generally work in candle and body care applications, but must be tested for compatibility in your product. 
  • Due to the concentration of the oils safety precautions must be taken when handling them. 

What are fragrance oils?

Fragrance oils are synthetic or blended aromatic compounds designed to mimic natural scents or create entirely new ones. Unlike essential oils, which are extracted from plants, fragrance oils are crafted by blending aromatic chemicals and natural extracts. This careful formulation allows for a wide range of scents that may not be possible to achieve with essential oils alone and also allows for greater safety and performance in their applications. 

How Can Fragrance Oils Be Used?

Though they smell beautiful on their own, fragrance oils are a manufacturing product and must be diluted prior to use. They can be formulated for one specific purpose (such as for soap or in a candle) or for a wider range of applications - however, no one fragrance oil will work in ALL applications, so testing your products is a must. The fragrance oils that Scent Memory Fragrance offer are generally formulated to be safe in candle and body care applications. 

Are Fragrance Oils Safe On Their Own?

Just like any concentrated product, care must be used in handling fragrance oils prior to dilution in product. Every fragrance oil product page contains the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) in the "Regulatory Documents" tab. Download and review prior to using the fragrance oil. 
Safety Information
  • Fragrance oils are a manufacturing product used in making candles, soap and other products. They must be diluted before use.
  • Refer to the IFRA tab for maximum skin safety usage rates, and review the IFRA document carefully. 
  • Maximum usage rates refer to skin safety percentages only and are not recommendations for usage rates in products or formulas. Refer to your formula for the recommended usage rate, and do not use the fragrance oil if the IFRA rate is not rated highly enough for use in your product. 
  • Download and review the SDS (Safety Data Sheet) document provided in the IFRA & SDS tab. Follow all safety guidelines recommended. Do not allow contact with skin or ingest. Follow all IFRA guidelines for dilution in product.  Care should be used in handling at all times.

For our Canadian Friends: we highly recommend Shippsy.com as a package forwarder. UPS charges very high brokerage fees and duty on oils even if they are manufactured in the United States. Shippsy will not charge these fees if a commercial invoice showing the oil origin is provided. We are happy to provide this upon request. You are responsible to ensure all import regulations are followed, including documentation and product approval. Scent Memory is responsible only for delivery to a US domestic address and consider orders closed once delivery confirmation is received.

International Shipping: At this time Scent Memory only ships within the United States and its territories. We are responsible only for delivery to a US domestic address and consider orders closed once delivery confirmation is received.

Shipping Policy: Scent Memory ships orders through the United States Postal Service and UPS. All orders are assigned tracking numbers which are transmitted to the customer within 24 hours of shipping.

Orders that are marked as delivered by the shipping carrier are considered complete. Scent Memory is not responsible for stolen or missing packages after the carrier conveys delivered status. Individuals should work with their local post office or UPS location to identify exact location of delivery.

Returned Packages: In the event of a returned package due to undeliverable location, customer refusal or incorrect address, Scent Memory will send the customer and invoice for redelivery. If this is not paid, a refund on the purchase will be made minus the original delivery fee.

Damaged Packages: In the event of a damaged package please contact info@scentmemoryfragrance.com with pictures of the packaging and the product, with a description of and the extent of the damage. This is required for Scent Memory to file a shipping damage claim.

This scent smells amazing. It’s citrusy but complex while still being light and up lifting. It soaped beautifully and I cannot wait to see how the survives the curing process. I have just enough left from my 2 oz bottle to make a candle.

Awesome Citrus Scent for Perfumes

Wow! Straight out of the bottle, it's like sparkling citrus in a bottle — so fresh and vibrant! I haven’t made anything with it yet, but after reading so many rave reviews, I just had to try it. Can’t wait to start creating with this one!

This scent is just too heavy on the musks for my nose. They really dull the brightness of the citrus elements. In coconut apri wax gives off more of a cologne quality than immediately citrus. But citrus is very hard to produce in wax.

Crisp is a great descriptor for this scent. As expected, it is a citrus-forward scent with something underneath that gives it that smell of "luxury." Unfortunately, as is pretty typical of many scents with a similar profile, the best notes are the lightest and don't last very long. Still, this scent makes the best of those notes. Certainly reminiscent of Bergamote 22, although I tested this under the nose with both on perfume paper and Bergamote 22 had a little more staying power it seems. Regardless, this will continue to be a scent I regularly keep in my inventory. Makes a beautiful roll-on when mixed with some perfumer's alcohol.

Wow, is this one a keeper! A wonderfully balanced citrus with depth, I can really smell the bergamot and orange blossom. Good hot throw at 6.7% in 6006. Definitely worth trying, even if you're not a particular fan of citrus!

This is fantastic. A nice unisex scent. Complex citrus notes with a hint of floral and then something deeper underneath to anchor it, maybe the vetiver or the musk. This has become a personal favorite and it’s been lovely added to body lotion.

I’m not personally a huge fan of citrus scents and they can’t be hard to work with in candles…sometimes giving a “burnt FO” scent… but this behaved very well in my tester and I love the citrus so much in this.

Le Labo has a way of making everything unisex and timeless and this is no exception. An exact dupe.

I used this in soap, and it behaved so well I ordered more. The soap smells beautiful==it's a gentle fragrance (note--gentle does not equate to weak) and if I had to use one word to describe it, I would say "clean." It doesn't hit you over the head and make you say "OOOH," instead, when people smell it they smile and say "That's really nice."

Unique take on citrus

This is a wonderful citrus for various applications. I haven't tried it in cp soap or candles yet, but it's been great in scrubs and bath bombs. It's fresh with a slight woodsy backbone, and finishes with a creamy softness.
