About Fragrance Oil
  • The fragrance oils sold by Scent Memory are a manufacturing product. They are not skin safe on their own and must be diluted prior to use. 
  • Our oils are formulated to generally work in candle and body care applications, but must be tested for compatibility in your product. 
  • Due to the concentration of the oils safety precautions must be taken when handling them. 

What are fragrance oils?

Fragrance oils are synthetic or blended aromatic compounds designed to mimic natural scents or create entirely new ones. Unlike essential oils, which are extracted from plants, fragrance oils are crafted by blending aromatic chemicals and natural extracts. This careful formulation allows for a wide range of scents that may not be possible to achieve with essential oils alone and also allows for greater safety and performance in their applications. 

How Can Fragrance Oils Be Used?

Though they smell beautiful on their own, fragrance oils are a manufacturing product and must be diluted prior to use. They can be formulated for one specific purpose (such as for soap or in a candle) or for a wider range of applications - however, no one fragrance oil will work in ALL applications, so testing your products is a must. The fragrance oils that Scent Memory Fragrance offer are generally formulated to be safe in candle and body care applications. 

Are Fragrance Oils Safe On Their Own?

Just like any concentrated product, care must be used in handling fragrance oils prior to dilution in product. Every fragrance oil product page contains the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) in the "Regulatory Documents" tab. Download and review prior to using the fragrance oil.

  • Fragrance oils are a manufacturing product used in making candles, soap and other products. They must be diluted before use.
  • Refer to the IFRA tab for maximum skin safety usage rates, and review the IFRA document carefully. 
  • Maximum usage rates refer to skin safety percentages only and are not recommendations for usage rates in products or formulas. Refer to your formula for the recommended usage rate, and do not use the fragrance oil if the IFRA rate is not rated highly enough for use in your product. 
  • Download and review the SDS (Safety Data Sheet) document provided in the IFRA & SDS tab. Follow all safety guidelines recommended. Do not allow contact with skin or ingest. Follow all IFRA guidelines for dilution in product.  Care should be used in handling at all times.

For our Canadian Friends: we highly recommend Shippsy.com as a package forwarder. UPS charges very high brokerage fees and duty on oils even if they are manufactured in the United States. Shippsy will not charge these fees if a commercial invoice showing the oil origin is provided. We are happy to provide this upon request. You are responsible to ensure all import regulations are followed, including documentation and product approval. Scent Memory is responsible only for delivery to a US domestic address and consider orders closed once delivery confirmation is received.

International Shipping: At this time Scent Memory only ships within the United States and its territories. We are responsible only for delivery to a US domestic address and consider orders closed once delivery confirmation is received.

Shipping Policy: Scent Memory ships orders through the United States Postal Service and UPS. All orders are assigned tracking numbers which are transmitted to the customer within 24 hours of shipping.

Orders that are marked as delivered by the shipping carrier are considered complete. Scent Memory is not responsible for stolen or missing packages after the carrier conveys delivered status. Individuals should work with their local post office or UPS location to identify exact location of delivery.

Returned Packages: In the event of a returned package due to undeliverable location, customer refusal or incorrect address, Scent Memory will send the customer and invoice for redelivery. If this is not paid, a refund on the purchase will be made minus the original delivery fee.

Damaged Packages: In the event of a damaged package please contact info@scentmemoryfragrance.com with pictures of the packaging and the product, with a description of and the extent of the damage. This is required for Scent Memory to file a shipping damage claim.

Gah, this smells great. I have never smelled the inspiration but this SM version is gorgeous. I put some on my wrist and went about my day, and I am still smelling it hours later. I usually go nose blind pretty quick, but not to this particular fragrance. Well done SM.

So excited to try this in lotion and coco apricot wax. I'm a Newbie and can't seem to find the percentage for candles. I read throught all the attachments. I read for lotion its 6.7% of assume of the total amount of material. However, I can't find the same information for a candle. So excited I found this company!!

Absolutely 100% I LOVE it! I love both rose and Lychee scents and this is the perfect combo. Very pleasantly sweet. It is somewhat pungent out of the bottle but it came out very gentle in soap! I can sniff it all day long!!

Ok, so, I would say this smells 70-75% like the original. It’s just missing some of the complexity and nuances and perhaps this blend is just overall a little less bright and not as round. However, this is coming from someone who owns and wears the original fragrance, so to someone less familiar with it, this is definitely a more accessible option that can give you a similar vibe, though not an exact replication of course as that would cost $357 + tax. (Which is INSANE honestly….)

Personally I do not love this scent but that's ok. Because one of my customers does. I find that I really had to let this cure for 3 or more weeks. Cold throw is nice (powdery even if I dislike). I use coco soy wax. I poured this in a 10 oz jar and my customer said it smelled her entire living room. I then poured in a 12 oz 4 inch diameter vessel and she raved it scented her entire apartment. Therefore this scent seems to be a good performer.

Lovely fruity rose, and very strong - did at 6.6% in 6006 and it filled up my house, will likely bump down to 6% for future pours. Great for fans of florals with a twist!

My nose might be broken. I don’t care for this at all. It performs well, but I just can’t use it. Maybe it’s the rose and incense combo, I don’t know. I have to agree, I smell “grandma’s armpit” 🙈 please don’t come after me lol

Out of the bottle, I didn't understand the hype behind this scent, but that is exactly why you don't judge a fragrance OOB. You have to make something with it, and this scent turned out to be so beautiful! I've used it in creams and perfume oils. It's gorgeous and well-loved. It's floral but is also pretty and powerful. It's a great combination of notes.

I will never understand the appeal of this fragrance. I despise it with every fiber of my being and I hold my breath when pouring it. But people LOVE IT. To me, all I smell is a grandma's armpit. But you can't argue with feedback. This is a winner. But I just have to say my piece. This is grandma's armpit when she pulls you in for a hug at the family reunion.
