About Fragrance Oil
  • The fragrance oils sold by Scent Memory are a manufacturing product. They are not skin safe on their own and must be diluted prior to use. 
  • Our oils are formulated to generally work in candle and body care applications, but must be tested for compatibility in your product. 
  • Due to the concentration of the oils safety precautions must be taken when handling them. 

What are fragrance oils?

Fragrance oils are synthetic or blended aromatic compounds designed to mimic natural scents or create entirely new ones. Unlike essential oils, which are extracted from plants, fragrance oils are crafted by blending aromatic chemicals and natural extracts. This careful formulation allows for a wide range of scents that may not be possible to achieve with essential oils alone and also allows for greater safety and performance in their applications. 

How Can Fragrance Oils Be Used?

Though they smell beautiful on their own, fragrance oils are a manufacturing product and must be diluted prior to use. They can be formulated for one specific purpose (such as for soap or in a candle) or for a wider range of applications - however, no one fragrance oil will work in ALL applications, so testing your products is a must. The fragrance oils that Scent Memory Fragrance offer are generally formulated to be safe in candle and body care applications. 

Are Fragrance Oils Safe On Their Own?

Just like any concentrated product, care must be used in handling fragrance oils prior to dilution in product. Every fragrance oil product page contains the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) in the "Regulatory Documents" tab. Download and review prior to using the fragrance oil.

  • Fragrance oils are a manufacturing product used in making candles, soap and other products. They must be diluted before use.
  • Refer to the IFRA tab for maximum skin safety usage rates, and review the IFRA document carefully. 
  • Maximum usage rates refer to skin safety percentages only and are not recommendations for usage rates in products or formulas. Refer to your formula for the recommended usage rate, and do not use the fragrance oil if the IFRA rate is not rated highly enough for use in your product. 
  • Download and review the SDS (Safety Data Sheet) document provided in the IFRA & SDS tab. Follow all safety guidelines recommended. Do not allow contact with skin or ingest. Follow all IFRA guidelines for dilution in product.  Care should be used in handling at all times.

For our Canadian Friends: we highly recommend Shippsy.com as a package forwarder. UPS charges very high brokerage fees and duty on oils even if they are manufactured in the United States. Shippsy will not charge these fees if a commercial invoice showing the oil origin is provided. We are happy to provide this upon request. You are responsible to ensure all import regulations are followed, including documentation and product approval. Scent Memory is responsible only for delivery to a US domestic address and consider orders closed once delivery confirmation is received.

International Shipping: At this time Scent Memory only ships within the United States and its territories. We are responsible only for delivery to a US domestic address and consider orders closed once delivery confirmation is received.

Shipping Policy: Scent Memory ships orders through the United States Postal Service and UPS. All orders are assigned tracking numbers which are transmitted to the customer within 24 hours of shipping.

Orders that are marked as delivered by the shipping carrier are considered complete. Scent Memory is not responsible for stolen or missing packages after the carrier conveys delivered status. Individuals should work with their local post office or UPS location to identify exact location of delivery.

Returned Packages: In the event of a returned package due to undeliverable location, customer refusal or incorrect address, Scent Memory will send the customer and invoice for redelivery. If this is not paid, a refund on the purchase will be made minus the original delivery fee.

Damaged Packages: In the event of a damaged package please contact info@scentmemoryfragrance.com with pictures of the packaging and the product, with a description of and the extent of the damage. This is required for Scent Memory to file a shipping damage claim.

Top-shelf for sure, very powerful young guy soap, reminds me of those zesty soap bars. I cannot separate any of the notes, it blends together so well. Made a perfume and sheezuz, the scent retains for a long time, and really smells like a post-shower dude getting ready for a night out. One of my favorites right now.

I've used Hellooo Sailor in CP soap, and it's a winner. The scent retention is super strong, so either dial back what you usually use or let your soap cure a long time. This one really shines with age, and sells well for me. Trying it in candles next, based on these reviews!

This fragrance was not my personal taste. No matter when I smell, I get acetone. It smells to me exactly like nail polish remover, and it's a powerhouse thrower. 4stars because everyone's nose is different, and it IS incredibly strong and worth your money if you enjoy the fragrance.

This scent is insanely strong, and very much fills up any room you put it in. I could probably dial the fragrance load on this one down by a lot, to me this is overpowering and too strong at 8% :P

This makes a gorgeous perfume/cologne. I had my son help me figure out what was going to be the scent that I named after him, and this one won without contest. I do smell a hint of licorice in it, and it's not a bad thing. Anyone who smells this one loves it.

This is solid on it's own and I love blending with Orris & Sandalwood to make my "Luxury Hotel" oil. Very masculine and would be perfect in a beard oil or cologne.

This is a great masculine fragrance. Extremely popular. The soap notes on the product page doesn't have information for scent retention but I can tell you it has GREAT scent retention that lasts well after a normal cure. And a bar of soap in use continues to release fragrance. It also has a nice subtle lingering on skin after use.

Update

After having received Helloooo Sailor amongst a few others, I just today started testing my wax melts and perfume that I had forgotten about for over two months now… I mean by all means, I sniffed on it and tested a perfume and other products right after buying it and THIS is what I want my man smelling like but holy cow, it’s so , so, sooo good smelling it after a longer time of just letting it sit! This one will definitely stay on my list! Throw in my simple parasoy melts is a 9.25 out of 10!

For those of you looking for a masculine fragrance that’s spicy and fresh yet very warm, slightly green as well as slightly floral , slightly familiar yet oh so different - TRY IT! This is extra good!

One of my Faves!

I'm a huge Creed fan and anytime I find a fragrance claiming a resemblance makes me curious. This smells very similar to the original. It throws great in Coco / Apricot / Soy wax candles. Very good scent and will be adding it to my collection. Would love to see Scent Memory make other Creed fragrances!

Soaped today with Helloooo Sailor. A CP recipe with six colors used in a spin swirl design. No acceleration, no ricing or discoloration. Usage rate was .55%. I shoulda, coulda, woulda gone higher but was uncertain how the fragrance oil would behave. My advice, go on up higher. I would say double if you want a strong fragrance, .8-10 for medium strength. Of course, this advice may change after the cure. Very heavy peppery notes, definitely a masculine scent that is deep and warm. Might be 5 stars after the cure!
