About Fragrance Oil
  • The fragrance oils sold by Scent Memory are a manufacturing product. They are not skin safe on their own and must be diluted prior to use. 
  • Our oils are formulated to generally work in candle and body care applications, but must be tested for compatibility in your product. 
  • Due to the concentration of the oils safety precautions must be taken when handling them. 

What are fragrance oils?

Fragrance oils are synthetic or blended aromatic compounds designed to mimic natural scents or create entirely new ones. Unlike essential oils, which are extracted from plants, fragrance oils are crafted by blending aromatic chemicals and natural extracts. This careful formulation allows for a wide range of scents that may not be possible to achieve with essential oils alone and also allows for greater safety and performance in their applications. 

How Can Fragrance Oils Be Used?

Though they smell beautiful on their own, fragrance oils are a manufacturing product and must be diluted prior to use. They can be formulated for one specific purpose (such as for soap or in a candle) or for a wider range of applications - however, no one fragrance oil will work in ALL applications, so testing your products is a must. The fragrance oils that Scent Memory Fragrance offer are generally formulated to be safe in candle and body care applications. 

Are Fragrance Oils Safe On Their Own?

Just like any concentrated product, care must be used in handling fragrance oils prior to dilution in product. Every fragrance oil product page contains the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) in the "Regulatory Documents" tab. Download and review prior to using the fragrance oil.

  • Fragrance oils are a manufacturing product used in making candles, soap and other products. They must be diluted before use.
  • Refer to the IFRA tab for maximum skin safety usage rates, and review the IFRA document carefully. 
  • Maximum usage rates refer to skin safety percentages only and are not recommendations for usage rates in products or formulas. Refer to your formula for the recommended usage rate, and do not use the fragrance oil if the IFRA rate is not rated highly enough for use in your product. 
  • Download and review the SDS (Safety Data Sheet) document provided in the IFRA & SDS tab. Follow all safety guidelines recommended. Do not allow contact with skin or ingest. Follow all IFRA guidelines for dilution in product.  Care should be used in handling at all times.

For our Canadian Friends: we highly recommend Shippsy.com as a package forwarder. UPS charges very high brokerage fees and duty on oils even if they are manufactured in the United States. Shippsy will not charge these fees if a commercial invoice showing the oil origin is provided. We are happy to provide this upon request. You are responsible to ensure all import regulations are followed, including documentation and product approval. Scent Memory is responsible only for delivery to a US domestic address and consider orders closed once delivery confirmation is received.

International Shipping: At this time Scent Memory only ships within the United States and its territories. We are responsible only for delivery to a US domestic address and consider orders closed once delivery confirmation is received.

Shipping Policy: Scent Memory ships orders through the United States Postal Service and UPS. All orders are assigned tracking numbers which are transmitted to the customer within 24 hours of shipping.

Orders that are marked as delivered by the shipping carrier are considered complete. Scent Memory is not responsible for stolen or missing packages after the carrier conveys delivered status. Individuals should work with their local post office or UPS location to identify exact location of delivery.

Returned Packages: In the event of a returned package due to undeliverable location, customer refusal or incorrect address, Scent Memory will send the customer and invoice for redelivery. If this is not paid, a refund on the purchase will be made minus the original delivery fee.

Damaged Packages: In the event of a damaged package please contact info@scentmemoryfragrance.com with pictures of the packaging and the product, with a description of and the extent of the damage. This is required for Scent Memory to file a shipping damage claim.

When I first opened the bottle and took my first sniff, it smelled like bubble gum to me. Then my brain goes down the route of thinking cephalexin oral suspension and then amoxicillin and then....oh no, let's reroute! The more I sniff it, the sweeter and pearier it gets! I can't get enough of this deliciousness! If I were to take my amoxicillin or cephalexin oral suspension, I would want this to be the flavoring instead please.

A gorgeous REAL pear scent. Pure pear and pure beauty. I wanted to test burn a candle while eating dinner last night, so I had to be picky :) This one was PERFECT!!! All fresh and all pear. I had it in CocoPara wax, cured for just a handful of days, very pleasant wafting scent. Perfect for fall, but if you're into gormands this would be great all year.

Very sweet and light

This scent is really nice; the pear smell is super sweet and juicy! I put 10ml in a tester candle and it is even better in a product! I can definitely see this as a perfume scent or a fancy shampoo/body wash. I personally am not a fan of super sweet scents in candles, but I don't think this one is overly sweet in scent after lighting. 4 stars because it is not my personal ride or die, but there is no issue with the scent at all!

I've tried several pear fragrances over the years and none of them have behaved in CP. This one does behave!! I only hope it'll stick. It's not super strong, but I am ok with that as it somehow helps the real pear smell come through (in other words it's not just generic sweet smelling). I did make a candle, but prefer it in soap. The hot throw was on the mild side for what I'm after (but I do get whiffs of real pear, so maybe with some tweaks it'd be better). Scent Memory is blowing my mind with how many good soap fragrances I am finding!! BB is dead to me. 😂
