  • The fragrance oils sold by Scent Memory are a manufacturing product. They are not skin safe on their own and must be diluted prior to use.

What are fragrance oils?

Fragrance oils are synthetic or blended aromatic compounds designed to mimic natural scents or create entirely new ones. Unlike essential oils, which are extracted from plants, fragrance oils are crafted by blending aromatic chemicals and natural extracts. This careful formulation allows for a wide range of scents that may not be possible to achieve with essential oils alone and also allows for greater safety and performance in their applications. 

How Can Fragrance Oils Be Used?

Though they smell beautiful on their own, fragrance oils are a manufacturing product and must be diluted prior to use. They can be formulated for one specific purpose (such as for soap or in a candle) or for a wider range of applications - however, no one fragrance oil will work in ALL applications, so testing your products is a must. The fragrance oils that Scent Memory Fragrance offer are generally formulated to be safe in candle and body care applications. 

Are Fragrance Oils Safe On Their Own?

Just like any concentrated product, care must be used in handling fragrance oils prior to dilution in product. Every fragrance oil product page contains the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) in the "Regulatory Documents" tab. Download and review prior to using the fragrance oil.

  • Fragrance oils are a manufacturing product used in making candles, soap and other products. They must be diluted before use.
  • Refer to the IFRA tab for maximum skin safety usage rates, and review the IFRA document carefully. 
  • Maximum usage rates refer to skin safety percentages only and are not recommendations for usage rates in products or formulas. Refer to your formula for the recommended usage rate, and do not use the fragrance oil if the IFRA rate is not rated highly enough for use in your product. 
  • Download and review the SDS (Safety Data Sheet) document provided in the IFRA & SDS tab. Follow all safety guidelines recommended. Do not allow contact with skin or ingest. Follow all IFRA guidelines for dilution in product.  Care should be used in handling at all times.

For our Canadian Friends: we highly recommend Shippsy.com as a package forwarder. UPS charges very high brokerage fees and duty on oils even if they are manufactured in the United States. Shippsy will not charge these fees if a commercial invoice showing the oil origin is provided. We are happy to provide this upon request. You are responsible to ensure all import regulations are followed, including documentation and product approval. Scent Memory is responsible only for delivery to a US domestic address and consider orders closed once delivery confirmation is received.

International Shipping: At this time Scent Memory only ships within the United States and its territories. We are responsible only for delivery to a US domestic address and consider orders closed once delivery confirmation is received.

Shipping Policy: Scent Memory ships orders through the United States Postal Service and UPS. All orders are assigned tracking numbers which are transmitted to the customer within 24 hours of shipping.

Orders that are marked as delivered by the shipping carrier are considered complete. Scent Memory is not responsible for stolen or missing packages after the carrier conveys delivered status. Individuals should work with their local post office or UPS location to identify exact location of delivery.

Returned Packages: In the event of a returned package due to undeliverable location, customer refusal or incorrect address, Scent Memory will send the customer and invoice for redelivery. If this is not paid, a refund on the purchase will be made minus the original delivery fee.

This is one of my favorite scent memory fragrances. It’s beautiful in cold process soap and sold really fast! No acceleration, did discolor so prepare for that. You can go a little higher in percentage. I use it in bath salts, lotion bars and solid perfumes. Such a great scent and seller!!

I'm a huge sucker for rose and fruity scents. Love the rosesy component in this one. It's sweet but not as powdery as Sugared rose petals. It's less fruity compared to Turkish Rose and lychee. One of my faves.

VERY strong. Probably one of the most potent oils i've tested in soy wax from SM. Nice profile overall, like someone mentioned maybe not the most complex. Rose with a sweet fruity quality. I really don't pick up on pepper or spicy notes though. Curious if the Mad. Peppercorn scent might blend with this.

NGL…I initially ordered this on impulse bc I liked the picture. Not a big fan of roses, so not surprised I didn’t care for the scent.
That being said, this is a SOLID performer in wax. Great FO for those rose people (you know who you are).

This is such a beautiful fragrance. I tested in a parasoy wax melt, had my melter on for 6 hrs for 4 days and could still smell the fragrance. I call these types of scents creepers. It was subtle, not in your face, but you knew it was there, it traveled into 3 rooms. The rose is mixed in beautifully with the earthiness of the patchouli, plum and peppercorn, my husband didn't complain about it being overly 'rosey'. I'll be making perfume and bath products with the one.

I ordered this based on all the hype in the group and reviews in the group. I am NOT a fan of rose, but I absolutely love FLEUR D'ORANGER ET VANILLE and prefer that one over this variation of Rose. I will test in lotion to see if I prefer it than just OOB or blotter.

This FO would work for people who don’t necessarily like rose FO’s? It’s sweetened with the plum and vanilla notes and turns sexy with the patchouli. It has a great CT and HT in lux coco blend wax. I love it and I’m back for more! This most assuredly has earned a place in my line. Thank you SM for yet another amazing fragrance!

My customers who try this one in a candle really love the scent. While it is not a personal top scent, I do love its uniqueness and how well it performs in coconut wax. I feel like the plum hits first and then the dark rose notes really round out the scent and add a powdery dry down to the plum. It's a well balanced scent with both a GREAT CT and HT. I feel like if you took this one to an in person market, it would fly off the shelves--the CT is that good!

This is a lovely scent and I understand why it has such a high rating. Unfortunately, it was a big flop in my market. I've determined that the people in my area just don't like anything rose. It's their loss, really. They don't know what they're missing with this one. It is rich and sweet. I only used it in candles, but I bet it would also make amazing body products!

Rose and peppered plum is not your granny’s rose scent. This one is rich, complex with a touch of warmth. This is luxe in a bottle. I bought this recently and have made candles and perfume. Strong HT in Coco83 wax.
