About Fragrance Oil
  • The fragrance oils sold by Scent Memory are a manufacturing product. They are not skin safe on their own and must be diluted prior to use. 
  • Our oils are formulated to generally work in candle and body care applications, but must be tested for compatibility in your product. 
  • Due to the concentration of the oils safety precautions must be taken when handling them. 

What are fragrance oils?

Fragrance oils are synthetic or blended aromatic compounds designed to mimic natural scents or create entirely new ones. Unlike essential oils, which are extracted from plants, fragrance oils are crafted by blending aromatic chemicals and natural extracts. This careful formulation allows for a wide range of scents that may not be possible to achieve with essential oils alone and also allows for greater safety and performance in their applications. 

How Can Fragrance Oils Be Used?

Though they smell beautiful on their own, fragrance oils are a manufacturing product and must be diluted prior to use. They can be formulated for one specific purpose (such as for soap or in a candle) or for a wider range of applications - however, no one fragrance oil will work in ALL applications, so testing your products is a must. The fragrance oils that Scent Memory Fragrance offer are generally formulated to be safe in candle and body care applications. 

Are Fragrance Oils Safe On Their Own?

Just like any concentrated product, care must be used in handling fragrance oils prior to dilution in product. Every fragrance oil product page contains the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) in the "Regulatory Documents" tab. Download and review prior to using the fragrance oil.

  • Fragrance oils are a manufacturing product used in making candles, soap and other products. They must be diluted before use.
  • Refer to the IFRA tab for maximum skin safety usage rates, and review the IFRA document carefully. 
  • Maximum usage rates refer to skin safety percentages only and are not recommendations for usage rates in products or formulas. Refer to your formula for the recommended usage rate, and do not use the fragrance oil if the IFRA rate is not rated highly enough for use in your product. 
  • Download and review the SDS (Safety Data Sheet) document provided in the IFRA & SDS tab. Follow all safety guidelines recommended. Do not allow contact with skin or ingest. Follow all IFRA guidelines for dilution in product.  Care should be used in handling at all times.

For our Canadian Friends: we highly recommend Shippsy.com as a package forwarder. UPS charges very high brokerage fees and duty on oils even if they are manufactured in the United States. Shippsy will not charge these fees if a commercial invoice showing the oil origin is provided. We are happy to provide this upon request. You are responsible to ensure all import regulations are followed, including documentation and product approval. Scent Memory is responsible only for delivery to a US domestic address and consider orders closed once delivery confirmation is received.

International Shipping: At this time Scent Memory only ships within the United States and its territories. We are responsible only for delivery to a US domestic address and consider orders closed once delivery confirmation is received.

Shipping Policy: Scent Memory ships orders through the United States Postal Service and UPS. All orders are assigned tracking numbers which are transmitted to the customer within 24 hours of shipping.

Orders that are marked as delivered by the shipping carrier are considered complete. Scent Memory is not responsible for stolen or missing packages after the carrier conveys delivered status. Individuals should work with their local post office or UPS location to identify exact location of delivery.

Returned Packages: In the event of a returned package due to undeliverable location, customer refusal or incorrect address, Scent Memory will send the customer and invoice for redelivery. If this is not paid, a refund on the purchase will be made minus the original delivery fee.

Damaged Packages: In the event of a damaged package please contact info@scentmemoryfragrance.com with pictures of the packaging and the product, with a description of and the extent of the damage. This is required for Scent Memory to file a shipping damage claim.

Sweet smelling, romantic, and feminine - but feminine in a girlish way, reminiscent of a late teen/early 20-something woman with a delightful hair scent. The floral is mild and not overpowering, which I prefer. Used this for reed diffusers blended with Linen and Sunshine and it was lovely.

This is one of my fav! Very rosy very pleasantly sweet. Smells just like paradise. I use it to balance out some of the fragrance oils that smell too green/unripe. It's wonderful on its own and works magic when mixed. Absolutely in love with it!

This scent is more layered than you might expect! I love this one on its own AND as a blend to anything that may need some extra body or sweetness. It is sweet vanilla and is enough to fill a room. It makes a nice blend with other gourmand scents and is usually my go to to sweeten up anything! Though not typical for me, I’ve enjoyed it as perfumed oil roll on. It throws nicely in coconut wax candles and makes me think of the sugared icing decorations on top of petit fours (how's that visual?). If ever you needed an upscale cotton candy scent with a little twist, sugared rose petals is for you.

I LOVE this scent! Let me start off by saying, take all of your thoughts on "rose" type scents and toss them in the trash. I've put this into room & linen base as well as CAC, both perform excellent. The opening to this fragrance has a highly sweet, almost candy like, delicate rose/floral note that just entices you to enjoy just 1 more sniff. To me, I get a beautifully balanced vanilla note intertwining throughout the floral, with, dare I say, an ever so slight almost caramel like note playing peek-a-boo. This is a gorgeous blend, that had rose not been in the name, I never would have guessed it was a version of rose. If this magical rose does exist as a plant, Where do I get them? I need my entire house covered in them now!

Not your grandmother's rose fragrance

LOVE this one! It is playful, feminine, and sweet, with a hint of mystery. Just made the most beautiful Galentine's melts with it and next will be room spray.

Made into an eau de parfum with perfumer's alcohol, this is the scent that I can't stop smelling and is always commented on when I wear it. I didn't even realize that I remember what actual sugared rose petals smell like, until I smelled this fragrance oil and time travelled decades in the past when I made them with my preschool class. While there are certainly complexities to the fragrance, it's unmistakable as an exact replica of sugared rose petals. This is a much more smooth & sweet fragrance than floral. This is the only fragrance I need this summer, and I haven't even bothered to put it in wax because I wouldn't dare leave it at home, I prefer to take it with my everywhere!

In Lotus, Butters and Eau De Perfume this smells so beautiful! I normally shy away from Rose FOs, just due to the fact that I have often smelled ones that are way too heavy on a granny rose- this here, though, is a really soft one- very yummy smelling! Turned around and ordered more just for personal use!

Creamy Rose

I have never been a big fan of rose, but was intrigued by the description. Definitely don’t judge it straight out of bottle! This is a perfect balance of rose and sweet, creamy vanilla. I used this with a perfume base and could smell it for hours!
