About Fragrance Oil
  • The fragrance oils sold by Scent Memory are a manufacturing product. They are not skin safe on their own and must be diluted prior to use. 
  • Our oils are formulated to generally work in candle and body care applications, but must be tested for compatibility in your product. 
  • Due to the concentration of the oils safety precautions must be taken when handling them. 

What are fragrance oils?

Fragrance oils are synthetic or blended aromatic compounds designed to mimic natural scents or create entirely new ones. Unlike essential oils, which are extracted from plants, fragrance oils are crafted by blending aromatic chemicals and natural extracts. This careful formulation allows for a wide range of scents that may not be possible to achieve with essential oils alone and also allows for greater safety and performance in their applications. 

How Can Fragrance Oils Be Used?

Though they smell beautiful on their own, fragrance oils are a manufacturing product and must be diluted prior to use. They can be formulated for one specific purpose (such as for soap or in a candle) or for a wider range of applications - however, no one fragrance oil will work in ALL applications, so testing your products is a must. The fragrance oils that Scent Memory Fragrance offer are generally formulated to be safe in candle and body care applications. 

Are Fragrance Oils Safe On Their Own?

Just like any concentrated product, care must be used in handling fragrance oils prior to dilution in product. Every fragrance oil product page contains the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) in the "Regulatory Documents" tab. Download and review prior to using the fragrance oil.

  • Fragrance oils are a manufacturing product used in making candles, soap and other products. They must be diluted before use.
  • Refer to the IFRA tab for maximum skin safety usage rates, and review the IFRA document carefully. 
  • Maximum usage rates refer to skin safety percentages only and are not recommendations for usage rates in products or formulas. Refer to your formula for the recommended usage rate, and do not use the fragrance oil if the IFRA rate is not rated highly enough for use in your product. 
  • Download and review the SDS (Safety Data Sheet) document provided in the IFRA & SDS tab. Follow all safety guidelines recommended. Do not allow contact with skin or ingest. Follow all IFRA guidelines for dilution in product.  Care should be used in handling at all times.

For our Canadian Friends: we highly recommend Shippsy.com as a package forwarder. UPS charges very high brokerage fees and duty on oils even if they are manufactured in the United States. Shippsy will not charge these fees if a commercial invoice showing the oil origin is provided. We are happy to provide this upon request. You are responsible to ensure all import regulations are followed, including documentation and product approval. Scent Memory is responsible only for delivery to a US domestic address and consider orders closed once delivery confirmation is received.

International Shipping: At this time Scent Memory only ships within the United States and its territories. We are responsible only for delivery to a US domestic address and consider orders closed once delivery confirmation is received.

Shipping Policy: Scent Memory ships orders through the United States Postal Service and UPS. All orders are assigned tracking numbers which are transmitted to the customer within 24 hours of shipping.

Orders that are marked as delivered by the shipping carrier are considered complete. Scent Memory is not responsible for stolen or missing packages after the carrier conveys delivered status. Individuals should work with their local post office or UPS location to identify exact location of delivery.

Returned Packages: In the event of a returned package due to undeliverable location, customer refusal or incorrect address, Scent Memory will send the customer and invoice for redelivery. If this is not paid, a refund on the purchase will be made minus the original delivery fee.

Damaged Packages: In the event of a damaged package please contact info@scentmemoryfragrance.com with pictures of the packaging and the product, with a description of and the extent of the damage. This is required for Scent Memory to file a shipping damage claim.

This is a soft and slightly sweet classic scent. Smells like a high quality aftershave or beard oil imo. I know its an inspired scent but it is vaguely familiar butni cant place when, where or who. Very good softly masculine scent. Not over powering or in your face. Im alaskan and from a fishing town so many just me but the picture perfectly embodies this smell for me 😂 like a calm dignified ship captain.

Smells great, therefore it gets 5 stars. But, I am struggling with wick clogging. It's probably the spice note. And I definitely love a heavy fragrance load. Because of that I always wick up for my test candle. I rarely have this problem, but this fo is pretty spicy. I plan on making soap with it next. It's perfect for the holidays imo.

Oh how I love this oil! To be honest, I wasn’t entirely sure how I would like it when just sniffing OOB. But after getting it into wax and perfumer’s alcohol, it pleasantly surprised me with just how beautifully layered it is! There are both hints of sweetness and spice.. very intriguing!

I’ve been searching for a Tom Ford dupe because it’s my absolute favorite and holy crap this is IDENTICAL. It has taken me a while to write this review because I wanted to give my candle enough time to cure because this one does take a bit longer. At two weeks, HT was nice but not a ‘knock-your-socks-off’ HT. Still completely acceptable at 2 weeks in coconut apricot creme at 9%. But after four weeks - OH. MY. GOD - so amazing. It’s a beautiful, woody, sweet, tobacco fragrance. I know there are some folks putting this in the masculine category and it fits but it’s not the cologne type masculine you might be thinking of. It’s totally unisex and I’m obsessed!!

Quite Accurate, Great Throw

Very nice in a candle. Not my personal favorite but friends who love the og scent from TF love this candle. Great dupe. The cold throw almost had this muted black tea qualities i found very attractive, complex and still unified character. A little goes a long way and that's wonderful.

So so good

This has a been a best seller for me for over a year now! It is absolutely beautiful in my ec26. It’s masculine but not cologne, it warm with a hint of spice and a gently sweetness to round it out. Great HT at 8% for me. This is in my permanent lineup year round. Both men and women love it!
