About Fragrance Oil
  • The fragrance oils sold by Scent Memory are a manufacturing product. They are not skin safe on their own and must be diluted prior to use. 
  • Our oils are formulated to generally work in candle and body care applications, but must be tested for compatibility in your product. 
  • Due to the concentration of the oils safety precautions must be taken when handling them. 

What are fragrance oils?

Fragrance oils are synthetic or blended aromatic compounds designed to mimic natural scents or create entirely new ones. Unlike essential oils, which are extracted from plants, fragrance oils are crafted by blending aromatic chemicals and natural extracts. This careful formulation allows for a wide range of scents that may not be possible to achieve with essential oils alone and also allows for greater safety and performance in their applications. 

How Can Fragrance Oils Be Used?

Though they smell beautiful on their own, fragrance oils are a manufacturing product and must be diluted prior to use. They can be formulated for one specific purpose (such as for soap or in a candle) or for a wider range of applications - however, no one fragrance oil will work in ALL applications, so testing your products is a must. The fragrance oils that Scent Memory Fragrance offer are generally formulated to be safe in candle and body care applications. 

Are Fragrance Oils Safe On Their Own?

Just like any concentrated product, care must be used in handling fragrance oils prior to dilution in product. Every fragrance oil product page contains the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) in the "Regulatory Documents" tab. Download and review prior to using the fragrance oil. 
Safety Information
  • Fragrance oils are a manufacturing product used in making candles, soap and other products. They must be diluted before use.
  • Refer to the IFRA tab for maximum skin safety usage rates, and review the IFRA document carefully. 
  • Maximum usage rates refer to skin safety percentages only and are not recommendations for usage rates in products or formulas. Refer to your formula for the recommended usage rate, and do not use the fragrance oil if the IFRA rate is not rated highly enough for use in your product. 
  • Download and review the SDS (Safety Data Sheet) document provided in the IFRA & SDS tab. Follow all safety guidelines recommended. Do not allow contact with skin or ingest. Follow all IFRA guidelines for dilution in product.  Care should be used in handling at all times.

For our Canadian Friends: we highly recommend Shippsy.com as a package forwarder. UPS charges very high brokerage fees and duty on oils even if they are manufactured in the United States. Shippsy will not charge these fees if a commercial invoice showing the oil origin is provided. We are happy to provide this upon request. You are responsible to ensure all import regulations are followed, including documentation and product approval. Scent Memory is responsible only for delivery to a US domestic address and consider orders closed once delivery confirmation is received.

International Shipping: At this time Scent Memory only ships within the United States and its territories. We are responsible only for delivery to a US domestic address and consider orders closed once delivery confirmation is received.

Shipping Policy: Scent Memory ships orders through the United States Postal Service and UPS. All orders are assigned tracking numbers which are transmitted to the customer within 24 hours of shipping.

Orders that are marked as delivered by the shipping carrier are considered complete. Scent Memory is not responsible for stolen or missing packages after the carrier conveys delivered status. Individuals should work with their local post office or UPS location to identify exact location of delivery.

Returned Packages: In the event of a returned package due to undeliverable location, customer refusal or incorrect address, Scent Memory will send the customer and invoice for redelivery. If this is not paid, a refund on the purchase will be made minus the original delivery fee.

Damaged Packages: In the event of a damaged package please contact info@scentmemoryfragrance.com with pictures of the packaging and the product, with a description of and the extent of the damage. This is required for Scent Memory to file a shipping damage claim.

I love love love Almond Blossom & Wildflower fragrance! I made a batch of goat milk soap over a year ago using just 2.6%, and the scent retention is still amazing. It has a warm, comforting aroma — to me, it smells more like almond than floral, which I absolutely adore.

This scent is pure heaven! I remember ordering it as a wild card because it doesn’t seem like something I would like but it’s Scent Memory, so I had to try it. No regrets! We have since bought more and more. Customers rebuy this and I know why. It’s a good strong oil for wax and body products. I bet this would smell amazing in soap. A must try!!

This scent isn't "in your face" but is truly a harmonious blend of floral and almond. I find the dry-down becomes sweeter on my skin and the almond goodness really shows through. Anyone who wants a soft floral with almond will absolutely love this.

Nice soft scent that I will be testing in wax melts. A nice neutral scent that seems like it would be a nice background scent for any occasion. It’s not super strong out of the bottle so I wouldn’t use in candles personally, but I load my melts with 15% fragrance so scent strength isn’t as much of an issue. I appreciate the more affordable fragrances on the site as an option for wax melts for me. I use different fragrances in my candles than my melts and have 2 different price tiers that I try to stick to for each.

This is a beautiful scent. I actually didn’t love it when I opened the bottle but after I added it to wax I noticed that the scent mellowed and changed somehow. Every few days I would pick up the candle to smell it and noticed the longer it cured the more I liked it. I tested it after 10 days in coconut wax and I would have liked for it to be a little stronger but it did fill up the room after a few hours of burning. It did eventually drift down the hallway and I had several people ask what smelled so good about 3.5 hours into the test burn. It wasn’t an in your face power scent but a lovely fragrance nonetheless.

One of the most beautiful fragrances I've ever smelled. I don't enjoy almost every other almond scent out there but this chewed me up and spat me out in the BEST way possible. It's my in my signature collection because it's that good. Everyone loves it and it works well in so many applications. Smooth, luxurious, creamy, well-blended plush goodness!

I really enjoy the way this fragrance smells in a candle. It's floral while being creamy. It's a beautiful combination that I couldn't have anticipated. I'm going to try it in soap next because of how great it is in wax. This is one of those scents that feels really versatile. It would do well in room sprays, body mists, soaps, wax melts, you name it.

This fragrance oil is wonderful in CP. Behaves with very little discoloration. Maybe off white?? Still needs to cure longer, but I can't imagine it not sticking. This would be a fantastic blender as well. It's so creamy and strong. Some of this and SM tea garden I think would be amazing. Highly recommend!!
