About Fragrance Oil
  • The fragrance oils sold by Scent Memory are a manufacturing product. They are not skin safe on their own and must be diluted prior to use. 
  • Our oils are formulated to generally work in candle and body care applications, but must be tested for compatibility in your product. 
  • Due to the concentration of the oils safety precautions must be taken when handling them. 

What are fragrance oils?

Fragrance oils are synthetic or blended aromatic compounds designed to mimic natural scents or create entirely new ones. Unlike essential oils, which are extracted from plants, fragrance oils are crafted by blending aromatic chemicals and natural extracts. This careful formulation allows for a wide range of scents that may not be possible to achieve with essential oils alone and also allows for greater safety and performance in their applications. 

How Can Fragrance Oils Be Used?

Though they smell beautiful on their own, fragrance oils are a manufacturing product and must be diluted prior to use. They can be formulated for one specific purpose (such as for soap or in a candle) or for a wider range of applications - however, no one fragrance oil will work in ALL applications, so testing your products is a must. The fragrance oils that Scent Memory Fragrance offer are generally formulated to be safe in candle and body care applications. 

Are Fragrance Oils Safe On Their Own?

Just like any concentrated product, care must be used in handling fragrance oils prior to dilution in product. Every fragrance oil product page contains the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) in the "Regulatory Documents" tab. Download and review prior to using the fragrance oil.

  • Fragrance oils are a manufacturing product used in making candles, soap and other products. They must be diluted before use.
  • Refer to the IFRA tab for maximum skin safety usage rates, and review the IFRA document carefully. 
  • Maximum usage rates refer to skin safety percentages only and are not recommendations for usage rates in products or formulas. Refer to your formula for the recommended usage rate, and do not use the fragrance oil if the IFRA rate is not rated highly enough for use in your product. 
  • Download and review the SDS (Safety Data Sheet) document provided in the IFRA & SDS tab. Follow all safety guidelines recommended. Do not allow contact with skin or ingest. Follow all IFRA guidelines for dilution in product.  Care should be used in handling at all times.

For our Canadian Friends: we highly recommend Shippsy.com as a package forwarder. UPS charges very high brokerage fees and duty on oils even if they are manufactured in the United States. Shippsy will not charge these fees if a commercial invoice showing the oil origin is provided. We are happy to provide this upon request. You are responsible to ensure all import regulations are followed, including documentation and product approval. Scent Memory is responsible only for delivery to a US domestic address and consider orders closed once delivery confirmation is received.

International Shipping: At this time Scent Memory only ships within the United States and its territories. We are responsible only for delivery to a US domestic address and consider orders closed once delivery confirmation is received.

Shipping Policy: Scent Memory ships orders through the United States Postal Service and UPS. All orders are assigned tracking numbers which are transmitted to the customer within 24 hours of shipping.

Orders that are marked as delivered by the shipping carrier are considered complete. Scent Memory is not responsible for stolen or missing packages after the carrier conveys delivered status. Individuals should work with their local post office or UPS location to identify exact location of delivery.

Returned Packages: In the event of a returned package due to undeliverable location, customer refusal or incorrect address, Scent Memory will send the customer and invoice for redelivery. If this is not paid, a refund on the purchase will be made minus the original delivery fee.

Damaged Packages: In the event of a damaged package please contact info@scentmemoryfragrance.com with pictures of the packaging and the product, with a description of and the extent of the damage. This is required for Scent Memory to file a shipping damage claim.

I’m completely in love with this one!

I had to do a custom order for 50 candles as a corporate gift. Out of all the fragrances, they chose vanilla. And I do carry quite a few vanillas! I decided to test this one and it was amazing! I used a para soy (MB100) in a straight glass tumbler, CD wick, one week cure. OOB this is a light fragrance, figured it probably wasn’t going to have an amazing hot throw, but I was wrong! I rate my candles on a 3.0 scale and this was a 2.75. This is now one of my absolute favorite vanillas of all time from any manufacturer. With the right wax and wick, this one works soooo well!

Sweet vanilla

Super sweet and yummy vanilla! Definitely custardy and girly. Great in perfume, wasn't as strong as I was hoping in coco soy wax.

This smells really good! Based on reviews here and elsewhere, I was expecting it to be stronger and perhaps a taaad more unique. To my nose, it's a lighter version of a couple other oils I have. Lighter, but albeit better. Imo, it's extremely hard to find a vanilla fragrance oil that doesn't end up smell like buttered plastic on the skin (I make perfumes/lotions), but so far, this one is doing a damn good job of not venturing into chemical territory and for that reason alone, I've decided I like it best!

So, I have tried to make this fragrance oil work since August of 2023. Finally, after using over half the bottle I finally got this fragrance to throw in my soy/coconut/beeswax blend. I could not get it to work in Soy No. 7, but it worked great with Soy 10 though.
Any who, the HT was great and is the best smelling vanilla I've tested to date and I will be ordering more.

This smells really nice. I get high quality vanilla and burnt sugar. But not caramel burnt sugar. Instead, what it smells like when you burn the sugar on top of a creme brulee. It's SM quality and throws great!

I cannot get a good hot throw from any of the fragrance oils from Scent Memory. I use Soy 7 from 16/17 w/ a fragrance load of 10%. Very little hot throw with this scent. Max I'd give it is 4 out of 10.

Truly the most goddamn dangerous vanilla. You’ll want to put this in everything immediately. You think I’m joking, but just watch. You’re gonna start picking different bottles up and smelling them next to this lil bombshell and ughhhhh. It’s actual perfection. It really is the most gorgeous vanilla. If you’re only going to get one vanilla, this is the one you want to get.

Oh how I LOVE this!! I’m a self proclaimed gourmand vanilla expert. I think I’ve nearly tried them all. This is the BEST. If you like vanilla get this-you will not be disappointed. If you don’t like vanilla.. get this anyway! You will not be disappointed!! It’s a high end vanilla. It’s been said before and I’ll say it again. I don’t know how Kristen does this but these scents are just blowing me away. I’m very grateful I’ve found SM. Thank you!
