About Fragrance Oil
  • The fragrance oils sold by Scent Memory are a manufacturing product. They are not skin safe on their own and must be diluted prior to use. 
  • Our oils are formulated to generally work in candle and body care applications, but must be tested for compatibility in your product. 
  • Due to the concentration of the oils safety precautions must be taken when handling them. 

What are fragrance oils?

Fragrance oils are synthetic or blended aromatic compounds designed to mimic natural scents or create entirely new ones. Unlike essential oils, which are extracted from plants, fragrance oils are crafted by blending aromatic chemicals and natural extracts. This careful formulation allows for a wide range of scents that may not be possible to achieve with essential oils alone and also allows for greater safety and performance in their applications. 

How Can Fragrance Oils Be Used?

Though they smell beautiful on their own, fragrance oils are a manufacturing product and must be diluted prior to use. They can be formulated for one specific purpose (such as for soap or in a candle) or for a wider range of applications - however, no one fragrance oil will work in ALL applications, so testing your products is a must. The fragrance oils that Scent Memory Fragrance offer are generally formulated to be safe in candle and body care applications. 

Are Fragrance Oils Safe On Their Own?

Just like any concentrated product, care must be used in handling fragrance oils prior to dilution in product. Every fragrance oil product page contains the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) in the "Regulatory Documents" tab. Download and review prior to using the fragrance oil.

  • Fragrance oils are a manufacturing product used in making candles, soap and other products. They must be diluted before use.
  • Refer to the IFRA tab for maximum skin safety usage rates, and review the IFRA document carefully. 
  • Maximum usage rates refer to skin safety percentages only and are not recommendations for usage rates in products or formulas. Refer to your formula for the recommended usage rate, and do not use the fragrance oil if the IFRA rate is not rated highly enough for use in your product. 
  • Download and review the SDS (Safety Data Sheet) document provided in the IFRA & SDS tab. Follow all safety guidelines recommended. Do not allow contact with skin or ingest. Follow all IFRA guidelines for dilution in product.  Care should be used in handling at all times.

For our Canadian Friends: we highly recommend Shippsy.com as a package forwarder. UPS charges very high brokerage fees and duty on oils even if they are manufactured in the United States. Shippsy will not charge these fees if a commercial invoice showing the oil origin is provided. We are happy to provide this upon request. You are responsible to ensure all import regulations are followed, including documentation and product approval. Scent Memory is responsible only for delivery to a US domestic address and consider orders closed once delivery confirmation is received.

International Shipping: At this time Scent Memory only ships within the United States and its territories. We are responsible only for delivery to a US domestic address and consider orders closed once delivery confirmation is received.

Shipping Policy: Scent Memory ships orders through the United States Postal Service and UPS. All orders are assigned tracking numbers which are transmitted to the customer within 24 hours of shipping.

Orders that are marked as delivered by the shipping carrier are considered complete. Scent Memory is not responsible for stolen or missing packages after the carrier conveys delivered status. Individuals should work with their local post office or UPS location to identify exact location of delivery.

Returned Packages: In the event of a returned package due to undeliverable location, customer refusal or incorrect address, Scent Memory will send the customer and invoice for redelivery. If this is not paid, a refund on the purchase will be made minus the original delivery fee.

Damaged Packages: In the event of a damaged package please contact info@scentmemoryfragrance.com with pictures of the packaging and the product, with a description of and the extent of the damage. This is required for Scent Memory to file a shipping damage claim.

The best Lost Cherry oil

I've been hoarding my 2oz sample and comparing it to other dupes, and none compare in hot throw (and scent comparison in some cases). I was literally about to order a larger bottle and saw my $10 in rewards expired 2 weeks ago. lol *sobs*

As a review said below, totally one of the best cherry scents out there. Turned it into a perfume.
Sweet like candy, reminiscent of those '90s Cherry Ludens cough drops with just a pinch of that almond / liqueur musk behind it. Has a bright / fresh feel to it as well, no grunge or earthiness at all. It blends well with other aromas if you want to add a candy fruitiness to an aroma with a sugary smack, but this is totally delectable on its own and I love it.

This is such a delicious scent! Very sexy - I love this one for dates. It almost smells like a fancier version of the classic Jergens body lotion (I believe it’s cherry and almond scented?) I put this as a stand-alone candle in a trio for Valentine’s Day!

Not quite a cherry pie scent, just barely skirting the line of gourmand. Another gourmand for gourmand haters! The tonka and almond make it NEARLY cakelike, but this isn't overly sweet. Its sort of a warmed cherry syrup and brown sugar scent to me.

So, to preface, I'm not a big fruit scent fan but this one is quote nice and performs quite well for me. I've never smelled the TF original but I was hoping personally for something more perfume and less food. I blended it with another SM fragrance and got exactly what I wanted which isn't to detract from the quality of this one on its own, just a personal preference

I LOVE THIS!! This is purely otb response. I have never found a cherry fragrance that I liked. All too cough syrup or chemical smelling. This FO is perfection!! The cherry is absolutely present, but there is SO much more going on. I look forward to crafting with it. I recognize that it's likely to cause brown soap, but I don't care when it smells this good. Thanks SM for another great fragrance!!
