About Fragrance Oil
  • The fragrance oils sold by Scent Memory are a manufacturing product. They are not skin safe on their own and must be diluted prior to use. 
  • Our oils are formulated to generally work in candle and body care applications, but must be tested for compatibility in your product. 
  • Due to the concentration of the oils safety precautions must be taken when handling them. 

What are fragrance oils?

Fragrance oils are synthetic or blended aromatic compounds designed to mimic natural scents or create entirely new ones. Unlike essential oils, which are extracted from plants, fragrance oils are crafted by blending aromatic chemicals and natural extracts. This careful formulation allows for a wide range of scents that may not be possible to achieve with essential oils alone and also allows for greater safety and performance in their applications. 

How Can Fragrance Oils Be Used?

Though they smell beautiful on their own, fragrance oils are a manufacturing product and must be diluted prior to use. They can be formulated for one specific purpose (such as for soap or in a candle) or for a wider range of applications - however, no one fragrance oil will work in ALL applications, so testing your products is a must. The fragrance oils that Scent Memory Fragrance offer are generally formulated to be safe in candle and body care applications. 

Are Fragrance Oils Safe On Their Own?

Just like any concentrated product, care must be used in handling fragrance oils prior to dilution in product. Every fragrance oil product page contains the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) in the "Regulatory Documents" tab. Download and review prior to using the fragrance oil.

  • Fragrance oils are a manufacturing product used in making candles, soap and other products. They must be diluted before use.
  • Refer to the IFRA tab for maximum skin safety usage rates, and review the IFRA document carefully. 
  • Maximum usage rates refer to skin safety percentages only and are not recommendations for usage rates in products or formulas. Refer to your formula for the recommended usage rate, and do not use the fragrance oil if the IFRA rate is not rated highly enough for use in your product. 
  • Download and review the SDS (Safety Data Sheet) document provided in the IFRA & SDS tab. Follow all safety guidelines recommended. Do not allow contact with skin or ingest. Follow all IFRA guidelines for dilution in product.  Care should be used in handling at all times.

For our Canadian Friends: we highly recommend Shippsy.com as a package forwarder. UPS charges very high brokerage fees and duty on oils even if they are manufactured in the United States. Shippsy will not charge these fees if a commercial invoice showing the oil origin is provided. We are happy to provide this upon request. You are responsible to ensure all import regulations are followed, including documentation and product approval. Scent Memory is responsible only for delivery to a US domestic address and consider orders closed once delivery confirmation is received.

International Shipping: At this time Scent Memory only ships within the United States and its territories. We are responsible only for delivery to a US domestic address and consider orders closed once delivery confirmation is received.

Shipping Policy: Scent Memory ships orders through the United States Postal Service and UPS. All orders are assigned tracking numbers which are transmitted to the customer within 24 hours of shipping.

Orders that are marked as delivered by the shipping carrier are considered complete. Scent Memory is not responsible for stolen or missing packages after the carrier conveys delivered status. Individuals should work with their local post office or UPS location to identify exact location of delivery.

Returned Packages: In the event of a returned package due to undeliverable location, customer refusal or incorrect address, Scent Memory will send the customer and invoice for redelivery. If this is not paid, a refund on the purchase will be made minus the original delivery fee.

Damaged Packages: In the event of a damaged package please contact info@scentmemoryfragrance.com with pictures of the packaging and the product, with a description of and the extent of the damage. This is required for Scent Memory to file a shipping damage claim.

One of my customers favourites! I have had a LOT of people tell me that this remind them of when their grandpa was stuffing his pipe with tobacco. Also, this is one of my personal faves! Performs great in candles. Initially i thought this one was more for the men, but my buyers is very much 50/50 on this one.

I agree with someone who called it well balanced. This is very smoky and woody at the forefront, with a hint of warm whiskey and sweetness from the tobacco. Performs well in parasoy for me. The percentage is low for perfume, but even at 8% usage rate its still pretty great in roller bottles.

I love how I can smell all the notes and not just the whiskey as is typical of so many booze FO’s. This is very well balanced and throws very well in my lux wax! After testing I see I am going to have to wick up, so this fragrance may have an even better HT! Many thanks to SMF for this fragrance oil!

I didn't really love this one. It is strong & throws well but I can't get Apple Cider out of my head. OOTB I smell the stiff drink and tobacco but in my coconut wax I smell apple cider. It could work, in my opinion, as a seasonal cider candle. But I might be the minority opinion

This scent is so good! It’s a whiskey and tobacco without any “smoke” or the usual gag-inducing smell that a lot of other whiskey FOs have. I made this into an air freshener diffuser for my car and holy mother of Moses. It’s good. I think it leans more towards unisex than a true masculine scent.

too strong for my liking

so I usually just order my oils straight to big bottles coz I don't want to waste money on testers and shipping since it's so expensive for me to ship in Asia. for me, this particular masculine scent is just too strong, it smells more like a sweet chemical kind not what I expected, but when it comes to CT&HT it's good. works well with my coco wax. but I won't keep it. so I suggest getting a small test for this one if you want a masculine type of FO before committing to the big one.

Killer throw in wax!!

This fragrance oil is a strong, STRONG performer in wax!! The tobacco in this is definitely an unburned tobacco leaf -- smooth and fragrant, not smokey. The whiskey is sweet, almost like a spiced cider. 10% in wax is not for the faint of heart -- I think you can get away with 8% or even less and still have an impressive cold and hot throw. It performs great for me in coconut brew with a touch of paraffin. I know that I can always depend upon this fragrance to perform and impress!

You smell the whiskey, you smell the tobacco and then you smell the oak, woody notes. They all bloom and flourish on their own and intermingle into a whole experience. It's really lovely. You get a lot of the whiskey up front but its not strong, heavy and overpowering at all. It's perfectly complimented by the follow up notes and is such a pleasure to back within. Another one of my faves in coconut wax.
