About Fragrance Oil
  • The fragrance oils sold by Scent Memory are a manufacturing product. They are not skin safe on their own and must be diluted prior to use. 
  • Our oils are formulated to generally work in candle and body care applications, but must be tested for compatibility in your product. 
  • Due to the concentration of the oils safety precautions must be taken when handling them. 

What are fragrance oils?

Fragrance oils are synthetic or blended aromatic compounds designed to mimic natural scents or create entirely new ones. Unlike essential oils, which are extracted from plants, fragrance oils are crafted by blending aromatic chemicals and natural extracts. This careful formulation allows for a wide range of scents that may not be possible to achieve with essential oils alone and also allows for greater safety and performance in their applications. 

How Can Fragrance Oils Be Used?

Though they smell beautiful on their own, fragrance oils are a manufacturing product and must be diluted prior to use. They can be formulated for one specific purpose (such as for soap or in a candle) or for a wider range of applications - however, no one fragrance oil will work in ALL applications, so testing your products is a must. The fragrance oils that Scent Memory Fragrance offer are generally formulated to be safe in candle and body care applications. 

Are Fragrance Oils Safe On Their Own?

Just like any concentrated product, care must be used in handling fragrance oils prior to dilution in product. Every fragrance oil product page contains the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) in the "Regulatory Documents" tab. Download and review prior to using the fragrance oil. 
Safety Information
  • Fragrance oils are a manufacturing product used in making candles, soap and other products. They must be diluted before use.
  • Refer to the IFRA tab for maximum skin safety usage rates, and review the IFRA document carefully. 
  • Maximum usage rates refer to skin safety percentages only and are not recommendations for usage rates in products or formulas. Refer to your formula for the recommended usage rate, and do not use the fragrance oil if the IFRA rate is not rated highly enough for use in your product. 
  • Download and review the SDS (Safety Data Sheet) document provided in the IFRA & SDS tab. Follow all safety guidelines recommended. Do not allow contact with skin or ingest. Follow all IFRA guidelines for dilution in product.  Care should be used in handling at all times.

For our Canadian Friends: we highly recommend Shippsy.com as a package forwarder. UPS charges very high brokerage fees and duty on oils even if they are manufactured in the United States. Shippsy will not charge these fees if a commercial invoice showing the oil origin is provided. We are happy to provide this upon request. You are responsible to ensure all import regulations are followed, including documentation and product approval. Scent Memory is responsible only for delivery to a US domestic address and consider orders closed once delivery confirmation is received.

International Shipping: At this time Scent Memory only ships within the United States and its territories. We are responsible only for delivery to a US domestic address and consider orders closed once delivery confirmation is received.

Shipping Policy: Scent Memory ships orders through the United States Postal Service and UPS. All orders are assigned tracking numbers which are transmitted to the customer within 24 hours of shipping.

Orders that are marked as delivered by the shipping carrier are considered complete. Scent Memory is not responsible for stolen or missing packages after the carrier conveys delivered status. Individuals should work with their local post office or UPS location to identify exact location of delivery.

Returned Packages: In the event of a returned package due to undeliverable location, customer refusal or incorrect address, Scent Memory will send the customer and invoice for redelivery. If this is not paid, a refund on the purchase will be made minus the original delivery fee.

Damaged Packages: In the event of a damaged package please contact info@scentmemoryfragrance.com with pictures of the packaging and the product, with a description of and the extent of the damage. This is required for Scent Memory to file a shipping damage claim.

Such a beautiful an complex scent! Smells amazing right out of the bottle and after only 3 days of curing in para soy wax I can smell the CT is good too!!

I am pretty happy with this one in candles. It has great CT & HT. I found the banana note a little too strong for my personal preference so I blend it with something like Tobacco Sandalwood. It burned a little hotter than most FOs but wicking down one size did the trick. Back to the banana‐ that note not THAT bad to make it smell like a cheap FO, it still smells quite high end otherwise I wouldn't be sticking with a 5 star review!

Everyone raves about this fragrance!

I wanted to love it but it smells medicinal to me for some reason, I think it’s the banana that reminds me of penicillin LOL. And I have a hard time trying to market and name this one! But nonetheless, very strong and does definitely blossom in soy wax

I’ve never smelled the original Mandolin Bay Hotel fragrance but I don’t care because regardless, this FO is my absolute favorite so far. It’s definitely spicey but it’s the most sophisticated spice I’ve ever smelled. Typically spicey fragrances give fall vibes but w the coconut and banana in this one, it makes it a year-round fragrance. I use in CAC wax and the ct/ht is amazing. You don’t have to wait for an extended cure time to get good ht. It’s optimal after two weeks but still great after just 1 week. Everyone who smells this fo gushes over it. If you’re thinking about ordering - do it!!

In a candle. So dang good!! Really nice complexity. To my nose, much more than just a sweet tropical scent. If you are a candle maker, this is a must try.

Coco Spice Hotel is warm, sweet and deliciously tropical. The spices really come through and the banana and coconut is very balanced. It's not an artificial banana at all. I never thought of tropical scents as cozy but this one is.

Close your eyes when you smell this and picture yourself walking into a fancy hotel lobby, or a bungalow over water. You’ve been in the sun covered in suntan location. It smells like banana, coconuts and spice. It’s just gorgeous! It has a great CT/HT. I will be making perfume with this one.
