About Fragrance Oil
  • The fragrance oils sold by Scent Memory are a manufacturing product. They are not skin safe on their own and must be diluted prior to use. 
  • Our oils are formulated to generally work in candle and body care applications, but must be tested for compatibility in your product. 
  • Due to the concentration of the oils safety precautions must be taken when handling them. 

What are fragrance oils?

Fragrance oils are synthetic or blended aromatic compounds designed to mimic natural scents or create entirely new ones. Unlike essential oils, which are extracted from plants, fragrance oils are crafted by blending aromatic chemicals and natural extracts. This careful formulation allows for a wide range of scents that may not be possible to achieve with essential oils alone and also allows for greater safety and performance in their applications. 

How Can Fragrance Oils Be Used?

Though they smell beautiful on their own, fragrance oils are a manufacturing product and must be diluted prior to use. They can be formulated for one specific purpose (such as for soap or in a candle) or for a wider range of applications - however, no one fragrance oil will work in ALL applications, so testing your products is a must. The fragrance oils that Scent Memory Fragrance offer are generally formulated to be safe in candle and body care applications. 

Are Fragrance Oils Safe On Their Own?

Just like any concentrated product, care must be used in handling fragrance oils prior to dilution in product. Every fragrance oil product page contains the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) in the "Regulatory Documents" tab. Download and review prior to using the fragrance oil.

  • Fragrance oils are a manufacturing product used in making candles, soap and other products. They must be diluted before use.
  • Refer to the IFRA tab for maximum skin safety usage rates, and review the IFRA document carefully. 
  • Maximum usage rates refer to skin safety percentages only and are not recommendations for usage rates in products or formulas. Refer to your formula for the recommended usage rate, and do not use the fragrance oil if the IFRA rate is not rated highly enough for use in your product. 
  • Download and review the SDS (Safety Data Sheet) document provided in the IFRA & SDS tab. Follow all safety guidelines recommended. Do not allow contact with skin or ingest. Follow all IFRA guidelines for dilution in product.  Care should be used in handling at all times.

For our Canadian Friends: we highly recommend Shippsy.com as a package forwarder. UPS charges very high brokerage fees and duty on oils even if they are manufactured in the United States. Shippsy will not charge these fees if a commercial invoice showing the oil origin is provided. We are happy to provide this upon request. You are responsible to ensure all import regulations are followed, including documentation and product approval. Scent Memory is responsible only for delivery to a US domestic address and consider orders closed once delivery confirmation is received.

International Shipping: At this time Scent Memory only ships within the United States and its territories. We are responsible only for delivery to a US domestic address and consider orders closed once delivery confirmation is received.

Shipping Policy: Scent Memory ships orders through the United States Postal Service and UPS. All orders are assigned tracking numbers which are transmitted to the customer within 24 hours of shipping.

Orders that are marked as delivered by the shipping carrier are considered complete. Scent Memory is not responsible for stolen or missing packages after the carrier conveys delivered status. Individuals should work with their local post office or UPS location to identify exact location of delivery.

Returned Packages: In the event of a returned package due to undeliverable location, customer refusal or incorrect address, Scent Memory will send the customer and invoice for redelivery. If this is not paid, a refund on the purchase will be made minus the original delivery fee.

Damaged Packages: In the event of a damaged package please contact info@scentmemoryfragrance.com with pictures of the packaging and the product, with a description of and the extent of the damage. This is required for Scent Memory to file a shipping damage claim.

Light and Lovely Jasmine Fragrance

I love this light and lovely floral - it’s pretty true to the jasmine flower, and it gets to shine without competing floral notes. I like to use it in perfume and body butter. It’s got decent IFRA usage rates across categories too, so it’s versatile. Also, I think this is a unique scent blend, not inspired by other fragrances you might be familiar with.

Out of the bottle, I wasn’t crazy about the scent — but once in soap, it really grew on me. The fragrance is soft, sweet, and complex. It soaped beautifully with plenty of time for swirls. At 2 weeks, scent retention is light (used at 4.2%), so I might try a higher usage rate next time.

I've had a difficult time finding a jasmine scent that worked in cp soap, and this one was a win! After reading other reviews about strength, I went with 5%, and it was perfect. I had no problems swirling, and scent retention was great. I smell jasmine at the forefront, but it's combined with other florals to balance what *could* be an overly heady and sweet fragrance. This is well-balanced. I definitely get a sultry vibe, and it seemed to be a hit with customers, too, because it sold very quickly at markets.

Very reminiscent of any beautiful southern city in the summer. Sweet and languid, punchy and eye-opening. Makes me think of Savannah, Ga or New Orleans nights when all the jasmine is blooming and music is booming.

Not sure why but i'm getting a lot of lilac in this? Aside from that, it smells like a flower bed in a meadow on a breezy day. Very fresh and green florals. The honey is lurking in the background so it's not very sweet. Just wasn't what I was expecting/looking for

This is a nice, balanced scent that is pleasant. I used it in CP soap at 3% because some reviews said the FO was very strong. The scent in my soap is light, so I plan to go back to 5% for future batches, which I usually use. I had no trouble soaping with it, but I can't speak to discoloration since I made a darker soap.

Use with caution - it's strong! At first I used too much and it was a bit medicinal or fake perfumy smelling, but when toned down it blossomed into a somewhat delicate flower. Leans more jasmine than honey which adds a subtle warmth to this floral forward fragrance.

Gorgeous floral honey scent! The honey isn't too rich and the balance between the jasmine is beautiful. Soft, elegant and earthy. It would make beautiful body products or even as a blender.

Another excellent spring and summer perfume roll on scent. Actually had a younger customer reach out to me, disappointed that she couldn’t find “that perfect honey summer scent” that I made last year. While both honey and jasmine are sweet, the honey mellows what could be a very cloying flower to perfection and adds a bit of an herbal note. I have not tried this scent in candle, but have been pleased with the roll on perfume.

This is a gorgeous scent! A floral but soft and leans toward herbal for me and lightly sweet but not overly so. Very unique! I just poured for a candle and already I love the throw. GORGEOUS!

Extremely fragrant and sweet, an excellent authentic honey scent and a great jasmine as well. The two blend perfectly together and this is extremely pretty. Its very sweet (obviously, being a honey scent). Great as a mixer. The honey is SUPER powerful, so I use it in moderation when blending.

This is a very STRONG fragrant scent in cold process soap. A little goes a long way so be gentle or it will be too too much. For a jasmine fragrance it behaved beautifully in cold process soap.

If “Summer in the South” had a specific smell it would be this. Sweet and simple. I imagine the person behind the scent with a southern draw that says “bless your heart” while sittin’ in the rocker on the front porch sippin iced tea.

This is just lovely. I'm usually not a big fan of sweet or strong floral, and I didn't think I would care for this, but I was wrong. You can smell the jasmine and the honey, but they blend beautifully. Looking forward to soaping with it.

CP is best use

So, otb and in a candle I don't really care for this fragrance. Very likely this is just my nose. BUT, this fragrance is beautiful in CP. Behaves and no discoloration. In soap I smell honey and jasmine which is beautifully balanced. If you are a soap maker give this FO a try!
