About Fragrance Oil
  • The fragrance oils sold by Scent Memory are a manufacturing product. They are not skin safe on their own and must be diluted prior to use. 
  • Our oils are formulated to generally work in candle and body care applications, but must be tested for compatibility in your product. 
  • Due to the concentration of the oils safety precautions must be taken when handling them. 

What are fragrance oils?

Fragrance oils are synthetic or blended aromatic compounds designed to mimic natural scents or create entirely new ones. Unlike essential oils, which are extracted from plants, fragrance oils are crafted by blending aromatic chemicals and natural extracts. This careful formulation allows for a wide range of scents that may not be possible to achieve with essential oils alone and also allows for greater safety and performance in their applications. 

How Can Fragrance Oils Be Used?

Though they smell beautiful on their own, fragrance oils are a manufacturing product and must be diluted prior to use. They can be formulated for one specific purpose (such as for soap or in a candle) or for a wider range of applications - however, no one fragrance oil will work in ALL applications, so testing your products is a must. The fragrance oils that Scent Memory Fragrance offer are generally formulated to be safe in candle and body care applications. 

Are Fragrance Oils Safe On Their Own?

Just like any concentrated product, care must be used in handling fragrance oils prior to dilution in product. Every fragrance oil product page contains the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) in the "Regulatory Documents" tab. Download and review prior to using the fragrance oil. 
Safety Information
  • Fragrance oils are a manufacturing product used in making candles, soap and other products. They must be diluted before use.
  • Refer to the IFRA tab for maximum skin safety usage rates, and review the IFRA document carefully. 
  • Maximum usage rates refer to skin safety percentages only and are not recommendations for usage rates in products or formulas. Refer to your formula for the recommended usage rate, and do not use the fragrance oil if the IFRA rate is not rated highly enough for use in your product. 
  • Download and review the SDS (Safety Data Sheet) document provided in the IFRA & SDS tab. Follow all safety guidelines recommended. Do not allow contact with skin or ingest. Follow all IFRA guidelines for dilution in product.  Care should be used in handling at all times.

For our Canadian Friends: we highly recommend Shippsy.com as a package forwarder. UPS charges very high brokerage fees and duty on oils even if they are manufactured in the United States. Shippsy will not charge these fees if a commercial invoice showing the oil origin is provided. We are happy to provide this upon request. You are responsible to ensure all import regulations are followed, including documentation and product approval. Scent Memory is responsible only for delivery to a US domestic address and consider orders closed once delivery confirmation is received.

International Shipping: At this time Scent Memory only ships within the United States and its territories. We are responsible only for delivery to a US domestic address and consider orders closed once delivery confirmation is received.

Shipping Policy: Scent Memory ships orders through the United States Postal Service and UPS. All orders are assigned tracking numbers which are transmitted to the customer within 24 hours of shipping.

Orders that are marked as delivered by the shipping carrier are considered complete. Scent Memory is not responsible for stolen or missing packages after the carrier conveys delivered status. Individuals should work with their local post office or UPS location to identify exact location of delivery.

Returned Packages: In the event of a returned package due to undeliverable location, customer refusal or incorrect address, Scent Memory will send the customer and invoice for redelivery. If this is not paid, a refund on the purchase will be made minus the original delivery fee.

Damaged Packages: In the event of a damaged package please contact info@scentmemoryfragrance.com with pictures of the packaging and the product, with a description of and the extent of the damage. This is required for Scent Memory to file a shipping damage claim.

A Delight in CP Soap!

Behaves beautifully in CP soap. The incense notes come through but the geranium is the star of the show. No discoloration, acceleration or ricing.

As an avid user of the OG, I’m delighted to have a little bottle of this to play with. It smells amazing in liquid soap and as a room spray. I think I need to grab more while it’s here!

I can understand why this was discontinued simply because this is a scent i bought probably over a year ago as a 2 oz sample, popped it on a scent strip along with others at the time and when i came to Geranium and Incense I smelled it and thought "eh....this is weird", put it in my cupboard and forgot about it. In getting rid of some wax I thought "let's see if it changes in wax". It did! Not wildly, in a sense it's the same profile but all the sharp notes melt away and I'm left with this earthy, green, smoky mysterious but also familiar scent. I've tried probably 80% of SM's catalog and this is my favorite. Just bought 16oz of this. I do think it leans masculine and has no sweetness about it. It's not a scent you want to eat but a person or place you want to be near. I do think the imagery could use an update. I think it suggests a church-like scent and this is more of a mysterious wood with dappled sun light. Please give it a try in product before stashing it away!

I wasn’t a fan of this OOTB but it is truly delightful in CP soap and in shampoo and conditioner. To make it a little more geranium forward I added about 20% Rose Geranium FO from another company. It’s exactly what I wanted.

This powdery, transformative scent has thrown me for a loop in the very best possible way. It’s herbal and floral, a little spicy/sharp, combined of the very best kind of incense. I love how the geranium note really rounds out scents by adding a very natural, herbal note while also elevating the patchouli to a combination that screams high end n coconut wax candles. Forget what you think geranium flowers smell like and enjoy that minty/lemon/almost rose note. Haven’t tried it in body applications (yet) but I really like it in coconut wax and I'm thinking it will make an intriguing fall body scent.

I'm rating this strictly on the FO itself. Not my personal favorite, but OOB is strong! The CT and HT in wax is also strong! The geranium is definitely the star in this oil as it stands out the most.

About the candle... It's so beautiful. So luxurious. Smells like a REALLY expensive spa. It really throws as well. I only made the tiny test candle yesterday and I could smell it through the entire house. And even though it's geranium heavy... It's still unique.

I really like it!

I made CP soap with this. I REALLY like it. Some friends have commented that it smells minty. I personally don't get that much. I smell the geranium and I keep going back to smell it again & again. Scent is still nice and strong after curing.

Beautiful scent

Perfect geranium

This is a perfect geranium scent! Performed very well in CPS. Very nice blended with citrus, rose, or herbal scents. I use with a light hand as it is strong and can overpower a blend.
