About Fragrance Oil
  • The fragrance oils sold by Scent Memory are a manufacturing product. They are not skin safe on their own and must be diluted prior to use. 
  • Our oils are formulated to generally work in candle and body care applications, but must be tested for compatibility in your product. 
  • Due to the concentration of the oils safety precautions must be taken when handling them. 

What are fragrance oils?

Fragrance oils are synthetic or blended aromatic compounds designed to mimic natural scents or create entirely new ones. Unlike essential oils, which are extracted from plants, fragrance oils are crafted by blending aromatic chemicals and natural extracts. This careful formulation allows for a wide range of scents that may not be possible to achieve with essential oils alone and also allows for greater safety and performance in their applications. 

How Can Fragrance Oils Be Used?

Though they smell beautiful on their own, fragrance oils are a manufacturing product and must be diluted prior to use. They can be formulated for one specific purpose (such as for soap or in a candle) or for a wider range of applications - however, no one fragrance oil will work in ALL applications, so testing your products is a must. The fragrance oils that Scent Memory Fragrance offer are generally formulated to be safe in candle and body care applications. 

Are Fragrance Oils Safe On Their Own?

Just like any concentrated product, care must be used in handling fragrance oils prior to dilution in product. Every fragrance oil product page contains the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) in the "Regulatory Documents" tab. Download and review prior to using the fragrance oil.

  • Fragrance oils are a manufacturing product used in making candles, soap and other products. They must be diluted before use.
  • Refer to the IFRA tab for maximum skin safety usage rates, and review the IFRA document carefully. 
  • Maximum usage rates refer to skin safety percentages only and are not recommendations for usage rates in products or formulas. Refer to your formula for the recommended usage rate, and do not use the fragrance oil if the IFRA rate is not rated highly enough for use in your product. 
  • Download and review the SDS (Safety Data Sheet) document provided in the IFRA & SDS tab. Follow all safety guidelines recommended. Do not allow contact with skin or ingest. Follow all IFRA guidelines for dilution in product.  Care should be used in handling at all times.

For our Canadian Friends: we highly recommend Shippsy.com as a package forwarder. UPS charges very high brokerage fees and duty on oils even if they are manufactured in the United States. Shippsy will not charge these fees if a commercial invoice showing the oil origin is provided. We are happy to provide this upon request. You are responsible to ensure all import regulations are followed, including documentation and product approval. Scent Memory is responsible only for delivery to a US domestic address and consider orders closed once delivery confirmation is received.

International Shipping: At this time Scent Memory only ships within the United States and its territories. We are responsible only for delivery to a US domestic address and consider orders closed once delivery confirmation is received.

Shipping Policy: Scent Memory ships orders through the United States Postal Service and UPS. All orders are assigned tracking numbers which are transmitted to the customer within 24 hours of shipping.

Orders that are marked as delivered by the shipping carrier are considered complete. Scent Memory is not responsible for stolen or missing packages after the carrier conveys delivered status. Individuals should work with their local post office or UPS location to identify exact location of delivery.

Returned Packages: In the event of a returned package due to undeliverable location, customer refusal or incorrect address, Scent Memory will send the customer and invoice for redelivery. If this is not paid, a refund on the purchase will be made minus the original delivery fee.

Damaged Packages: In the event of a damaged package please contact info@scentmemoryfragrance.com with pictures of the packaging and the product, with a description of and the extent of the damage. This is required for Scent Memory to file a shipping damage claim.

This smells like grandma soap

This smells like grandma soap. I know scent is very personal, so someone else might enjoy the powdery heavy floral nose takeover, but I did not like that. I was expecting something different, but it’s hard to say exactly what that was. I have enjoyed all the other blends I have bought so far, so it could just be a taste thing.

Wow! Sometimes I am a bit iffy about rose scent, but this is sooo good. I made a loaf of cold process soap with this fragrance, and it smells amazing!! It did accelerate my batter a bit, but I'm always ready for that when using a new scent. I will definitely be purchasing more of this.

Right off the rip the scent is THE rose scent you know and love but after a bit it gets dark, mysterious and enticing. Like following a masked femme fatale down into a dark garden in the dead of a warm summer night. You know she's deadly, but you go anyway. Sultry, enticing and yet, still bright.

I love rose. I don't understand what is not to love. Roses are roses for a reason! But I get that some people don't love rose. So this, I believe, is a rose to appeal to rose lovers & those that need some help loving rose. It's definitely rose forward for those that like rose. It's not trying to hide it. But it is also enticing enough in other ways to get the non-rosers interested and come to their senses

I'd say easily the most realistic rose scent i've come across yet. SM Gossamer Rose is too much almost like pink roses on steroids to me....and Rose de Grasse so peppery that I don't notice rose. I have a sample of Gothic Rose which is closest to Black Heart to me but more frilly. So far i love this rose in candle form. I need to test further with different noses but I'm optimistic on the resulting opinions. Rose has such a bad wrap but i think this scent would unguard most prejudicial to the scent profile. Oh but i get no smokiness, leather or woods....but a pretty clear medium bodied red rose.

Rose 🌹, So I just received my oils on May 10-2023 on a Monday. This rose scent is a REAL! Rose scent . Let me explain. I’m a man and a candle maker. The one thing about rose fragrances from other fragrance company. Most off them smell fake, powdery, grandma and if that what you like ,good for you . That’s not me . this sent has a strong rose petal very faint Greenie smell but a real red rose scent. Very unisex and just a slight darkness to the rose smell of it. In some reviews they say they smell the smoke. I don’t get that. But what I do get is a rose that you would definitely be happy with. I just created the candle that night and I’m waiting for my two weeks to cure. This one here is a banger and I have already put it in my lineup of 10 new fragrances I’m introducing. 5 stars for me.

I don't know what it is, but I love this rose scent! Even if you have other rose FOs from SM, grab this one - it's just different. I haven't completed testing, but CT is excellent at 8% in a soy blend wax.

It's burning good!!

This is purely otb. I have NEVER smelled a "burning" note until now. Sometimes the best descriptor is in the name. That is how I feel about this FO. I can smell the rose and it smells like it's on fire. Seriously I have never smelled any fragrance with this burning smell. Not in a bonfire FO or by the fireplace. Those have some smoke notes. This is what it would smell like if you put your nose close to the fire away from any smoke. It's so interesting. I can not wait to craft with it!!

But it is leveled by the darker, woodier fragrances. Certainly passes as unisex, and everyone that smells it gushes over it. The leather note is not fake smelling or overpowering, which can be an issue with some leathers. Its an excellent note in this.
