About Fragrance Oil
  • The fragrance oils sold by Scent Memory are a manufacturing product. They are not skin safe on their own and must be diluted prior to use. 
  • Our oils are formulated to generally work in candle and body care applications, but must be tested for compatibility in your product. 
  • Due to the concentration of the oils safety precautions must be taken when handling them. 

What are fragrance oils?

Fragrance oils are synthetic or blended aromatic compounds designed to mimic natural scents or create entirely new ones. Unlike essential oils, which are extracted from plants, fragrance oils are crafted by blending aromatic chemicals and natural extracts. This careful formulation allows for a wide range of scents that may not be possible to achieve with essential oils alone and also allows for greater safety and performance in their applications. 

How Can Fragrance Oils Be Used?

Though they smell beautiful on their own, fragrance oils are a manufacturing product and must be diluted prior to use. They can be formulated for one specific purpose (such as for soap or in a candle) or for a wider range of applications - however, no one fragrance oil will work in ALL applications, so testing your products is a must. The fragrance oils that Scent Memory Fragrance offer are generally formulated to be safe in candle and body care applications. 

Are Fragrance Oils Safe On Their Own?

Just like any concentrated product, care must be used in handling fragrance oils prior to dilution in product. Every fragrance oil product page contains the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) in the "Regulatory Documents" tab. Download and review prior to using the fragrance oil.

  • Fragrance oils are a manufacturing product used in making candles, soap and other products. They must be diluted before use.
  • Refer to the IFRA tab for maximum skin safety usage rates, and review the IFRA document carefully. 
  • Maximum usage rates refer to skin safety percentages only and are not recommendations for usage rates in products or formulas. Refer to your formula for the recommended usage rate, and do not use the fragrance oil if the IFRA rate is not rated highly enough for use in your product. 
  • Download and review the SDS (Safety Data Sheet) document provided in the IFRA & SDS tab. Follow all safety guidelines recommended. Do not allow contact with skin or ingest. Follow all IFRA guidelines for dilution in product.  Care should be used in handling at all times.

For our Canadian Friends: we highly recommend Shippsy.com as a package forwarder. UPS charges very high brokerage fees and duty on oils even if they are manufactured in the United States. Shippsy will not charge these fees if a commercial invoice showing the oil origin is provided. We are happy to provide this upon request. You are responsible to ensure all import regulations are followed, including documentation and product approval. Scent Memory is responsible only for delivery to a US domestic address and consider orders closed once delivery confirmation is received.

International Shipping: At this time Scent Memory only ships within the United States and its territories. We are responsible only for delivery to a US domestic address and consider orders closed once delivery confirmation is received.

Shipping Policy: Scent Memory ships orders through the United States Postal Service and UPS. All orders are assigned tracking numbers which are transmitted to the customer within 24 hours of shipping.

Orders that are marked as delivered by the shipping carrier are considered complete. Scent Memory is not responsible for stolen or missing packages after the carrier conveys delivered status. Individuals should work with their local post office or UPS location to identify exact location of delivery.

Returned Packages: In the event of a returned package due to undeliverable location, customer refusal or incorrect address, Scent Memory will send the customer and invoice for redelivery. If this is not paid, a refund on the purchase will be made minus the original delivery fee.

Damaged Packages: In the event of a damaged package please contact info@scentmemoryfragrance.com with pictures of the packaging and the product, with a description of and the extent of the damage. This is required for Scent Memory to file a shipping damage claim.

Beautifully crafted scent...it gives me Hermes Un Jardin en Mediterranee. Very green base, the fig comes through nicely although that is a note that some people are not big fans of, and can be a little sharp. There is a nice floral mix in there, I think a little more of the citrus would help round out that sharp scent that comes through but ultimately this is a gorgeous scent and I personally use it in my own home almost daily. Certainly gives off luxury hotel vibes.

I was not a fan of this one personally, and I’m not sure which notes are putting me off. It’s fresh, but very sharp, there’s nothing to smooth edges of it for me. I definitely think it would probably make a better candle than anything personal care related.

This one smells very high-end to me. It reminds me of a luxurious hotel that you probably can't afford! We use this in candles, for our recipe, the throw is probably around a 7 out of 10. It would also be beautiful in perfume. We had one customer say it reminded them of a man's cologne. It is a great unisex fragrance.

I didn't make soap or candles with this one because I thought I kind of had this category covered. I recently tried a room spray with this FO and it is beautiful. I liked it plenty OOB but in the room spray I like it even more. Now I want to make soap with it too!

Very fresh and clean scent

This scent OOB and even when first poured into a tester candle reminded me strongly of the bath and body works bergamot waters candle, but higher end and expensive smelling. After letting this candle sit for a few weeks; it has shifted the notes of the fragrance in a great way! This scent is very clean, fresh, and like other reviews have mentioned definitely could be found in a fancy hotel! I love this scent and can see myself purchasing another bottle!

So I get zero sweet fruity notes. No fig or plum. But it's still great! Really behaves in CP. No discoloration. Plenty of time for intricate designs. Plus it's a strong fragrance so a little goes a long way. I would call it unisex and can totally see how it could be a signature scent for a hotel.
