About Fragrance Oil
  • The fragrance oils sold by Scent Memory are a manufacturing product. They are not skin safe on their own and must be diluted prior to use. 
  • Our oils are formulated to generally work in candle and body care applications, but must be tested for compatibility in your product. 
  • Due to the concentration of the oils safety precautions must be taken when handling them. 

What are fragrance oils?

Fragrance oils are synthetic or blended aromatic compounds designed to mimic natural scents or create entirely new ones. Unlike essential oils, which are extracted from plants, fragrance oils are crafted by blending aromatic chemicals and natural extracts. This careful formulation allows for a wide range of scents that may not be possible to achieve with essential oils alone and also allows for greater safety and performance in their applications. 

How Can Fragrance Oils Be Used?

Though they smell beautiful on their own, fragrance oils are a manufacturing product and must be diluted prior to use. They can be formulated for one specific purpose (such as for soap or in a candle) or for a wider range of applications - however, no one fragrance oil will work in ALL applications, so testing your products is a must. The fragrance oils that Scent Memory Fragrance offer are generally formulated to be safe in candle and body care applications. 

Are Fragrance Oils Safe On Their Own?

Just like any concentrated product, care must be used in handling fragrance oils prior to dilution in product. Every fragrance oil product page contains the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) in the "Regulatory Documents" tab. Download and review prior to using the fragrance oil.

  • Fragrance oils are a manufacturing product used in making candles, soap and other products. They must be diluted before use.
  • Refer to the IFRA tab for maximum skin safety usage rates, and review the IFRA document carefully. 
  • Maximum usage rates refer to skin safety percentages only and are not recommendations for usage rates in products or formulas. Refer to your formula for the recommended usage rate, and do not use the fragrance oil if the IFRA rate is not rated highly enough for use in your product. 
  • Download and review the SDS (Safety Data Sheet) document provided in the IFRA & SDS tab. Follow all safety guidelines recommended. Do not allow contact with skin or ingest. Follow all IFRA guidelines for dilution in product.  Care should be used in handling at all times.

For our Canadian Friends: we highly recommend Shippsy.com as a package forwarder. UPS charges very high brokerage fees and duty on oils even if they are manufactured in the United States. Shippsy will not charge these fees if a commercial invoice showing the oil origin is provided. We are happy to provide this upon request. You are responsible to ensure all import regulations are followed, including documentation and product approval. Scent Memory is responsible only for delivery to a US domestic address and consider orders closed once delivery confirmation is received.

International Shipping: At this time Scent Memory only ships within the United States and its territories. We are responsible only for delivery to a US domestic address and consider orders closed once delivery confirmation is received.

Shipping Policy: Scent Memory ships orders through the United States Postal Service and UPS. All orders are assigned tracking numbers which are transmitted to the customer within 24 hours of shipping.

Orders that are marked as delivered by the shipping carrier are considered complete. Scent Memory is not responsible for stolen or missing packages after the carrier conveys delivered status. Individuals should work with their local post office or UPS location to identify exact location of delivery.

Returned Packages: In the event of a returned package due to undeliverable location, customer refusal or incorrect address, Scent Memory will send the customer and invoice for redelivery. If this is not paid, a refund on the purchase will be made minus the original delivery fee.

Damaged Packages: In the event of a damaged package please contact info@scentmemoryfragrance.com with pictures of the packaging and the product, with a description of and the extent of the damage. This is required for Scent Memory to file a shipping damage claim.

Put it in All the Things!

I should preface this by saying I am not a vanilla lover. It’s typically too sweet and cake-ish. But this? Swoon inducing. A fresh, sweet vanilla without being cloying. Paired with the smokiness? Chef’s kiss. I’ve made perfume for myself and receive compliments every time I wear it.

Behaves beautifully in CP soap. Since the soaping notes say it discolors brown, I separated out a bit and left it unscented. The unscented portion did discolor to a lighter brown. That won’t dissuade me from using it again. So good!

SHEESH. Yes. I love smokey scents - it's actually a problem. My line has so many smokey scents that I'm having a hard time adding this one in - but it seems wrong to deny my customers this gorgeous, sweet (not cloying) perfectly smoked vanilla scent. It may have to go in PA just to get it out there.

I agree with the review below, this smells like a vanilla fresh from the pod with a whispering of few other notes. This is actually how i expected Vanilla Absolute to smell but that I found to smell like vanilla wafers. I didn't pick up any notes of black or pink pepper, elemi or frankincense. I have Eo samples for these and like to think i can register them. On scent strip or in candle this really has few if any spicy notes. Throws well in soy wax, very warm unassuming scent, not particularly distinct though.

Hubba, hubba...This was another dark horse that surprised me. In wax, it will sweep you off your feet. Vanilla is at the forefront, but more like vanilla while it's still in the pod (which always smells more woodsy/leathery to me.) Smoke notes are often overdone, but happy to say, the smokiness is only a whisper and adds a wonderful complexity. I'm a fan of Vanille Absolute, but think I like this one a tad more. Can't wait to try this in body products and maybe soap.

If I could give this ten stars, I would. I have not tested all of your fragrances yet, but I am in the process of doing that. With that being said, YOU DID THAT!!! The Vapors said it all. When I spray this fragrance on my body, I feel like the sexiest drama queen. This scent lasts long. I catch a hint of the fragrance; I want to pass out, wake up, smell myself again, and fall out again. I am feeling like a feline's meow.

Easy to be charmed by this one, made a perfume with this and it comes out of the bottle with a vanilla matched with some smoke, a kinda burnt wood briquette aroma. And the vanilla is warm and has suede/leather/tonka bean accompanying. The smoke fades to the background on the dry down and that delightful ambery-vanilla takes the stage for the rest of the show. Love this one, and frankly I keep going back to Hold Me Close to compare since it has a different drydown, altogether addictive and beautiful as well. Can't wait to see how this blends with other aromas, too

Let’s start with how much I love this brand and their inspired fragrances. They are truly exceptional. I purchased Vapors, Frutti Dolce, and Aranci Caramellizzati. I mixed them in equal parts and made the most luxurious body applications. The mix of these scents are sultry, sophisticated and sexy. I can’t wait to take these products with me on vacation. Cheers to Scent Memory! Btw, please make the Chloe inspired scents soon.

This really is a sexy, luxurious, vanilla leather fragrance. I have tried other Babycat dupes and this one is one of the best. I like that it’s not so peppery/spicy and that I can detect all the notes. It is beautifully blended and I imagine it will smell great as a perfume.

This is additive. Works great in the candle I made. But on my skin. Whoa. Out of the bottle, I would never think of wearing this. I am glad I decided to try it as now I want to drown myself in it. It's that good.

This scent is so addicting. I have tried another babycat dupe and it was nice but too suede heavy. This one is gorgeous. I haven't smelled the OG so I can't comment on that but this is a very addicting, sexy, and sort of nostalgic scent.
